Integration Developer - Healthie EHR

About us and the role We run a telehealth platform built on Healthie (EHR), with GoHighLevel (CRM) and Keragon (automation middleware) connected to it, plus phone, billing, and other systems around them. The native tools only go so far, and we have a steady backlog of custom integration and automation work across the whole platform. We're hiring an hourly contractor for an ongoing relationship — you'd become our go\-to developer for anything that touches Healthie or the systems connected to it. The kind of work on our backlog This list will grow and shift — these are examples of what's on it today, not the full job: * **Custom forms and questionnaires** — for example, our first ticket: a follow\-up questionnaire that dynamically assembles only the sections relevant to a patient's active treatment categories, triggered by a tag in Healthie, delivered as a white\-labeled SMS/email link with no portal login, writing answers back to the patient's chart via Healthie's API * **Phone and communication workflows** — connecting our phone/SMS systems with Healthie and the CRM so calls, texts, and patient records stay linked \[specifics to be discussed] * **Billing workflows** — smoothing out how billing runs between Healthie and our other systems \[specifics to be discussed] * **New automations** — workflows we currently handle manually that should fire automatically between systems * **Data syncing** — keeping patient records, tags, and statuses consistent between Healthie and the CRM in both directions, so the chart and the CRM never disagree * **Maintenance and support** — when an integration breaks or behaves unexpectedly, you're the person we ping; reasonable async response times, not on\-call urgency We'll prioritize the backlog together; you'll always know what's next. What we need from you * Real experience integrating with third\-party APIs from documentation — not just pre\-built connectors or no\-code tools * Comfortable with webhook\-driven architecture: an event fires, your system reacts, writes back to a source\-of\-truth system * GraphQL experience a plus (Healthie's API is GraphQL\-based) * Healthcare/EHR integration experience a strong plus, but not required if the above is solid * Comfortable working with patient data responsibly — you'll follow our compliance requirements for handling PHI (we'll walk you through them; prior HIPAA\-adjacent experience is a plus) * Strong async communication — you can explain technical decisions and status in plain language to non\-technical team members What working with us looks like * Defined tasks from a shared backlog, prioritized together * Async\-first: updates in writing, meetings only when needed * We pay for hours worked through \[Upwork / platform], tracked transparently * If the fit is good, the hours are steady — we have more work than this list To apply Tell us about a time you integrated with an API you'd never used before, purely from documentation.
