Accountant/Bookkeeper

We are looking for an experienced and dependable Accountant to join our team on a Contract basis. The position is mostly remote. Responsibilities: * Oversee the accounting function for a privately\-owned Cosmetology business comprising several different business units to insure good accounting practices * Maintain accurate financial records and integrity of the general ledger * Perform data entry and maintain accurate company books using QuickBooks * Monitor student financial transactions and ensure accurate financial data within the student management system * Track payroll hours for accuracy * Categorize expenditures, prepare journal entries and reconcile accounts * Maintain accounting\-related spreadsheets * Complete year\-end closing of all accounts * Support outside Tax Service in annual tax preparations * Assist with other accounting tasks and projects as needed Qualifications: * Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required * 2\+ years of accounting or book keeping experience * Strong attention to detail and analytical and organizational skills * Advanced spreadsheet skills, including the ability to create, maintain, and analyze complex reports in Excel or Google Sheets; ie, Vlookup, Pivot tables, Drop\-down menus, etc. * Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) * Uncompromising integrity, discretion, and strong ability to maintain strict confidentiality Pay: From $28\.00 per hour Work Location: Hybrid remote in Pleasant Grove, UT 84062
