⚡ Lead Substation Engineer - Solar/BESS/Renewable (15+ Years)📍 Location: REMOTE 📅 Duration: 12-Month Contract 💰 Compensation: Up to $68/hour depending on experience 👥 Openings: 2 positions🌟 Overview of the RoleJoin a Fortune 200 clean energy leader as a Lead Substation Engineer, managing substation projects from conception through construction and commissioning. You'll provide technical oversight of external engineers, ensure compliance with interconnection agreements, and coordinate with transmission owners and ISOs on utility-scale solar, BESS, and wind projects.💼 Key ResponsibilitiesManage all assigned substation projects from Early Stage conception through Execution and commissioningProvide training, due diligence, and technical oversight of external engineers of record (EOR)Ensure compliance with generation interconnection agreements, IEEE, NESC, ASCE, and applicable industry codesSecure engineering consulting resources by developing SOWs, securing bids, and awarding work through Integrated Supply ChainCoordinate with Transmission Services on system impact studies, facility studies, and reactive/harmonic studiesCommunicate with transmission owners/operators/ISOs to ensure project deliverables meet requirementsManage long lead major material orders to minimize schedule delays and budget overrunsLead multi-disciplinary engineering teams and ensure projects meet safety, cost, and schedule objectivesSupport project commissioning activities and collaborate with OEMs on design integration✅ Required Skills & QualificationsRequired:Bachelor of Science in Engineering15+ years of experience planning, designing, and executing large-scale energy projectsExtensive experience with utility-scale solar, BESS, wind, or hydrogen systemsDeep knowledge of generation interconnection agreements and transmission owner requirementsExpertise in IEEE, NESC, ASCE, and industry codes and standardsExperience managing external engineers of record and engineering consultantsValid driver's license with clean driving recordPreferred:Professional Engineering (PE) certification - strongly preferredExperience with ETAP, EDISON, or similar computational toolsBackground in protection & controls, power systems analysisExperience with ISO compliance and regulatory filings🎯 Perks of Working with AP Recruiters & AssociatesCompetitive Compensation: Up to $68/hour depending on experienceRemote Flexibility: Work from anywhereHigh-Impact Projects: Utility-scale solar, BESS, and renewable infrastructureExpert Support: Dedicated recruitment team throughout your assignmentIndustry Leader: Work with a Fortune 200 clean energy company🏢 About Our ClientOur client is a Fortune 200 clean energy leader and one of the largest utility companies in North America.
