Role Summary
The Junior IT Administrator supports daily IT operations, end-user systems, and identity management across the organization. This role focuses on providing first-line technical support, assisting with device and account management, and ensuring smooth onboarding and access to company systems. The position works under the guidance of senior IT staff and contributes to maintaining a secure, scalable, and reliable IT environment.
Key Responsibilities
End-User Systems & Device ManagementProvision, configure, and maintain company laptops and desktops (Windows & macOS)Support onboarding and offboarding processes (device setup, access, asset tracking, and shipment coordination)Assist with endpoint management using MDM tools (JumpCloud)Manage hardware inventory, including preparation, packaging, and coordination of device shipments to remote employeesTroubleshoot hardware, OS, and standard application issues
IT Operations & SupportProvide L1 support through the Helpdesk ticketing systemTroubleshoot and resolve common IT issues (access, software, devices, connectivity)Escalate complex issues to L2/L3 engineers as neededEnsure timely communication and resolution for end users
Identity & Access ManagementCreate, modify, and deactivate user accounts across systems (Microsoft 365, JumpCloud, Atlassian, etc.)Assign and manage access based on defined policiesAssist with SSO and MFA setup and troubleshootingSupport user lifecycle management processes
Cloud & SaaS SupportAssist in administration of cloud platforms (Azure and SaaS tools)Support user-level operations and access troubleshootingHelp monitor system health and report issues to senior team members
Security & ComplianceFollow IT security policies and best practicesAssist with patching, MFA enforcement, and endpoint complianceSupport incident response by gathering information and escalating issuesParticipate in audit preparation and compliance tasks
Documentation & Asset ManagementMaintain and update IT documentation (runbooks, onboarding guides, procedures)Track IT assets and maintain accurate inventory recordsFollow established IT standards and processes
Vendor & Team CollaborationCoordinate with vendors for hardware/software support issuesCoordinate device shipments and returns with logistics providers and internal stakeholdersCollaborate with internal teams (HR, Finance, Engineering) for onboarding and IT needsContinuously learn and improve technical skills with guidance from senior team members
Required Qualifications1–3 years of experience in IT Support, Helpdesk, or Junior IT AdministrationBasic experience with Windows and macOS administrationFamiliarity with MDM tools (e.g., JumpCloud or similar)Understanding of identity and access management concepts (SSO, MFA)Experience with Microsoft 365 and common SaaS toolsBasic networking knowledge (DNS, VPN, Wi-Fi troubleshooting)Strong troubleshooting and communication skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced, global environmentMust adhere to set internal controls
Nice to HaveExposure to Azure or other cloud platformsFamiliarity with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence)Basic scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Bash, or Python)Experience supporting remote or distributed teams
EducationBachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field (preferred)
Additional ConsiderationsRole may involve handling, packaging, and preparing IT equipment for shipment and deploymentAbility to manage operational and hands-on IT tasks in a fast-paced environmentPrimary working hours align with Pacific Time (9:00 AM – 6:00 PM PT), with flexibility required outside standard hours as neededWe are actively seeking candidates who reside in the following states: California, Washington, Idaho, Arizona, or Colorado
Must be a US citizen/permanent resident of the US, and capable of obtaining a Government Security clearance if required and live and work from the US. Green card holders qualify, but H1B or other work visa holders do not qualify for this role.
Salary range for the role is $60,000 to $70,000 per year, depending on experience.
