Position Title: Backend Developer (Laravel, MySQL, REST APIs, AWS) (Important) Work Arrangements: Remote (Starts Part-Time for 1–2 months, transitions to Full-Time upon passing performance period) Work Schedule: AU Time ZoneJob SummaryWe are looking for a highly driven and ambitious Backend Developer with strong expertise in Laravel, MySQL, and API development. This role is ideal for someone with a deep passion for technology, a strong work ethic, and a proven track record in building scalable web applications.You will play a critical role in developing and optimizing backend systems, ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to continuous growth and excellence.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems and APIs.Build and optimize RESTful APIs and ensure proper documentation using tools like Postman.Develop backend solutions using Laravel (v8 or later) and manage database performance.Optimize SQL queries, database schemas, and system performance.Integrate third-party services such as Stripe API.Write clean, testable, and maintainable code, including unit tests.Collaborate with cross-functional teams following Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve backend issues efficiently.Support deployment and server setup using DigitalOcean or AWS.Experience RequirementsStrong track record in IT or software development, with experience in web or mobile applications.Demonstrates a high level of drive, ambition, and work ethic, with a continuous desire to improve.Proven ability to take ownership and deliver high-quality outputs.Experience as a Developer, Engineer, or Product Manager is a strong advantage.Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.Technical SkillsBackend (Core):Strong experience with Laravel (v8 or later) and the Laravel ecosystem.Solid understanding of SQL schema design and SOLID principles.Experience with MySQL optimization and performance profiling.Strong knowledge of scalable architecture and backend design patterns.Experience developing and documenting RESTful APIs using Postman.Familiarity with server setup and deployment (DigitalOcean, AWS).General:Proficient in Git for version control and collaboration.Experience writing unit tests and building testable, maintainable code.Hands-on experience with Stripe API and documentation.Familiarity with Nuxt.js and frontend-backend integration.AbilitiesStrong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.High level of ownership, accountability, and attention to detail.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment.Driven, ambitious, and committed to continuous growth and excellence.Other RequirementsReliable internet connection (minimum 30 Mbps download / 10 Mbps upload).Must own a personal laptop or desktop capable of handling development workloads.Application ProcessIf you are passionate about backend development and want to grow in a high-performance environment, we encourage you to apply.
