Role Specific InformationJob DescriptionAbout the RoleAs Associate Platform Engineer, you will design, build and maintain the infrastructure and services that power Kohl’s applications. You will develop, test, deploy and iteratively improve platform capabilities, features and APIs under the direction of designers, product managers, end-users and other engineers on the platform team.What You’ll DoLeverage critical thinking, experimentation, data, end-user feedback and industry best practices to achieve desired business outcomesContribute to the development and integration of high-quality, secure platform services that are simple to use, easy to operate, difficult to break, fully integrated and extremely observable with measurable resultsSupport all technical aspects of the platform services lifecycle, including code, infrastructure, data, security, CICD, support and easy-to-read documentationLeverage a deep understanding of cloud technologies, automation tools and infrastructure-as-code practices to build and manage complex systems Optimize CI/CD pipelines, enhancing monitoring and logging frameworks and contributing to our platform's overall architecture and technical strategy.Create scalable, reliable, secure platforms supporting Kohl’s growing business needsStreamline development processes, improve system performance and ensure the high availability of servicesWork with SRE team to ensuring out platforms meet their SLA’s and SLO’sAdditional tasks may be assignedWhat Skills You HaveRequiredBasic understanding of continuous integration, continuous deployment and test-driven developmentBasic understanding of automation technologies used for Infrastructure as Code (IaC)Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies or techniques quicklyOpen-minded approaches to problem-solving centered around the needs of the customerPreferredBachelor's Degree or equivalent in MIS, Computer Science or related fieldBasic knowledge of application design patterns, event-driven architecture and testing strategiesExperience working with major cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure)Experience with Kubernetes based container platforms (Openshift, GKE, EKS…)Experience with IAC automation technologies such as OpenTofu, Ansible, Open Policy Agent (OPA), Packer, Gitlab CI, Python, and moreEssential FunctionsThe requirements listed below are representative of functions you will be required to perform, however you may be required to perform additional functions.
