Executive Director, AP Assessment Production ManagementCollege Board–AP&ILocation:This is a remote role. Candidates who live near CB offices have theoptionof being fully remote or hybrid (Tuesday and Wednesday in office). Role Type: This is a full-time positionAbout the TeamAP® is a rigorous academic program built on the commitment, passion and hard work of students and educators from secondary schools and higher education. With almost 40 courses in a wide variety of subject areas, AP provides willing and academically prepared high school students with the opportunity to study and learn at the college level. The AP program is rapidly expanding its development of instructional and assessment products under the leadership of the growing Assessment Production team. This role would oversee the Assessment ProductionManagementTeam and is comprised of 20+ professionalsoverseeing the end-to-endproductionand process management of insourced AP exam development.  About the Opportunity The Executive Director, AP Assessment Production Management is a senior leadership role responsible for leading the end-to-end process management of insourced AP exam development across 40+ courses, ensuring the reliable, on-time delivery of high-quality assessment forms at scale. This role sits at the center of a complex, cross-functional ecosystem, serving as a key operational and strategic partner tosenior leadership on AP Production &Delivery, APCurriculum & Assessment, and other senior leadersto drive alignment, execution, and continuous improvement during a period of rapid growth and transformation in the AP Program.The Executive Director is accountable for building and sustaining an integrated productionmanagement ecosystem that enablesvisibility, coordination, and control acrossa multitude of interdependent workflows and deliverables. This includes designing scalable systems, tools, and processes that support multiple production modalities and position the organization for full insourcing, increased volume, and future portfolio expansion, while balancing immediate delivery demands with long-term operational resilience.In this role, you will:Assessment Production Delivery(40%)Lead end-to-end delivery of insourced AP Exam production across40+ courses, ensuring 130+ forms are completed on time and within established windows aligned to the annual administration datesOversee large-scaleproduction andprocess management across thousands of items,maintainingquality, timelines, and operational rigorDrive prioritization and resolution of ~6,000+ assessment items, proactivelyidentifyingrisks and removing barriers to productionOversee execution across multiple production models (digital, print, hybrid, accommodated), ensuring continuous improvement and operational effectivenessServe as a primary partner to senior leaders (e.g., Curriculum & Assessment Department Heads), ensuring alignment, visibility, and execution across the portfolio of AP coursesAssessment Production Operations and Infrastructure(30%)Design and implement scalable processes, tools, and operating models to support a fully insourced assessment production functionBuild and manage an integrated processmanagement ecosystem enabling visibility across 10,000+ workflow steps and deliverablesProactively assess and manage dependencies on cross-functional team capacity, driving alignment on priorities, surfacing constraints, and ensuring realistic, achievable production commitmentsOwn and operationalize a clear role clarity and accountability framework across Director, Senior Director, and Executive Director levels, ensuring work is executed at theappropriate leveland aligned to defined ownership expectationsTeam Leadership(30%) Lead a team of20+ team membersthatis responsible forcourse-level end-to-end productionand process management of insourced AP examdevelopmentLead a manager-of-managers structure, providing strategic oversight to Senior Directors and empowering high-performing teamsEnsure you: Set vision and priorities for the team,trackand mange progress to goals, and provide coaching and support to ensure team members meet and exceed goals, remain engaged, and contribute meaningfully to our missionCultivate an inclusive and high-achieving culture that enables all team members to live out CollegeBoard’sOperating PrincipleseffectivelyBring proven leadership experience and consistently embody CollegeBoard’sManager Expectationsin your workAbout You To qualify for this role, you must have:Demonstrated success leading high-stakes, multi-year operational transformations at scaleExperience using innovative thinking and data to inform decisions and actionsDemonstrated fluency with emerging technologies, including AI-enabled tools, applying them strategically to informmultiyear project planning, while modeling effective and responsible use of AI to empower Assessment ProductionManagementleaders and teamsStrong people leader with experience managing senior managers and cross-functional
