Part\-Time Xero Bookkeeper **Trio Tax \| Boulder, Colorado** **Part\-time independent contractor \| Mostly remote/hybrid** **$35–$50 per hour, depending on experience** About the Role Trio Tax, a small tax practice in Boulder, is looking for an experienced local bookkeeper to work directly with our small\-business clients. This is a flexible, part\-time independent contractor position. Most work can be performed remotely, but we're specifically looking for someone in the Boulder/Broomfield area who can occasionally come into our Boulder office or meet with clients there when needed. Hours will initially vary, with the opportunity for the role to grow as we add bookkeeping clients. What You'll Do You'll serve as the primary bookkeeping contact for assigned Trio Tax clients and take ownership of their routine bookkeeping needs. Responsibilities include: * Setting up and maintaining client books in Xero * Onboarding new bookkeeping clients * Requesting records and information directly from clients * Bank and credit\-card reconciliations * Transaction categorization and bookkeeping adjustments * Cleanup and catch\-up bookkeeping * Payroll\-related bookkeeping and reconciliations * Preparing P\&L, Balance Sheet and other financial reports * Answering routine client bookkeeping questions * Following up with clients for missing information * Maintaining clean, tax\-ready books * Identifying tax\-related or unusual issues for escalation You'll communicate directly with clients as part of Trio Tax. Tax preparation and tax\-related questions are handled separately by the tax practice. What We're Looking For * Strong small\-business bookkeeping experience * Hands\-on Xero experience; Xero certification preferred * Solid understanding of P\&Ls, balance sheets and account reconciliation * Experience working with small businesses, including S corporations and partnerships * Professional and friendly client communication * Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned clients * Good judgment about when to resolve something independently and when to ask for help * Strong organization and attention to detail * Strict respect for client confidentiality * Located in the Boulder/Broomfield area or nearby CPA or EA credentials are not required. Compensation \& Schedule **$35–$50/hour depending on experience.** This is flexible, part\-time contract work with variable hours initially. Most work can be completed on your own schedule as long as client needs and agreed deadlines are handled promptly. There is no sales or client acquisition requirement. Trio Tax provides the clients and systems; your focus is taking good care of their books.
