The Budget Execution Analyst serves as the GSMO subject matter expert for budget execution, supporting the financial management of GSMO operations and the timely, accurate execution of funds in support of pay, travel, and budget functions.Our client is a boutique consulting firm that employs consultants and professionals with unique skill sets to support the federal government with strategic execution, financial process enablement, IT systems, and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software implementation.What will you doThe Budget Execution Analyst serves as the GSMO subject matter expert for budget execution, supporting the financial management of GSMO operations and the timely, accurate execution of funds in support of pay, travel, and budget functions.Responsibilities:Support budget execution, funds distribution, and obligation/commitment tracking for GSMO operations. Monitor budget execution against plan; identify variances and recommend corrective actions to leadership. Prepare and maintain budget execution documentation, including Annual Budget Execution Reports and supporting financial analyses. Reconcile financial data and resolve discrepancies in coordination with relevant financial offices. Apply DoD FMR, DAFI 65-series, and other applicable financial management policies and procedures. Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with financial management regulations; support inspections, audits, and readiness requirements. Requirements:Serves as a subject matter expert with in-depth knowledge of business and/or financial operations occupations. Minimum of five (5) years of related experience. Bachelor's degree in a field related to the tasking (e.g., finance, accounting, business administration, or related discipline). Ability to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC); must meet background investigation requirements to access controlled unclassified information (CUI) and DoD facilities. Working knowledge of the DoD Financial Management Regulation (FMR), Joint Travel Regulations (JTR), and DAFI 65-series regulations. Required systems experience: Defense Enterprise Accounting and Management System (DEAMS) for accounting and budget execution; and proficiency with spreadsheet and reporting tools (e.g., MS Excel) for budget analysis and execution reporting. Preferred Qualifications:Direct U.S. Air Force (USAF) budget execution or comptroller experience is strongly preferred and considered the most valuable form of related experience. Experience with USSF or USAF appropriations and funds management. Familiarity with the Air Force Financial Improvement and Audit Remediation (FIAR) program.
