We are seeking a Bookkeeper/Payroll Specialist to join our team and take on more complex bookkeeping and payroll work for a portfolio of contractor clients. This is an opportunity for a detail\-oriented bookkeeping professional who is ready to bridge the gap between entry\-level and senior work. The ideal candidate manages assigned clients with growing independence, processes payroll from start to finish with confidence, and knows when to follow procedure versus when to ask questions or escalate. **Benefits of Being Our Senior Bookkeeper/Payroll Specialist** * Long\-term, part\-time position at 30–40 hours per week * Fully remote, with a Monday–Friday PST schedule * Pay range of $27–$32 per hour, based on experience * 2 Weeks of PTO, 5 Paid Holidays, and WA State Sick Leave * Room to grow your bookkeeping and payroll expertise over time * Collaborative, supportive team culture with a focus on work\-life balance **Highlighted Responsibilities** In this role, you will manage routine and more complex bookkeeping and payroll work for assigned clients, with growing independence and support from senior team members. In this role you will: * Manage routine monthly bookkeeping and weekly transaction recording for assigned clients * Complete monthly bank, credit card, and loan reconciliations * Process payroll from start to finish using Gusto, ADP, and QuickBooks Online Payroll * Review payroll reports for accuracy, including wages, deductions, and employer taxes * Support Washington payroll compliance, prevailing wage, and certified payroll requirements * Own the full month\-end close process for multiple clients, including quality review of books for accuracy * Handle DOR sales and excise tax filings and Washington licensing/registration tasks * Identify discrepancies and escalate issues to senior team members as needed * Communicate directly with clients on routine questions or missing information * Maintain organized client records and collaborate with the team to support high\-quality client service **What We Are Looking For** * 5\+ years of bookkeeping and payroll experience, with strong preference for Washington payroll knowledge * Confident processing payroll start to finish and reviewing it for accuracy * Solid understanding of bookkeeping fundamentals in QuickBooks Online; certification preferred * Strong understanding of payroll workflows, liabilities, deductions, and employer taxes * Ability to manage multiple clients simultaneously with minimal supervision * Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills * Comfortable following SOPs while knowing when t
