Job Description
This is a remote position.We are seeking a highly skilledSenior Profee Coder (Multi-Specialty – Strong Surgical Experience)to join our team on acontract-to-permanent basis. This is aremote position, open only to residents ofTexas, Louisiana, Arkansas, New Mexico, or Georgia.In this role, you will focus on high-dollar or specialty accounts, applying expert-level coding knowledge to ensure accurate and compliant coding of inpatient and/or outpatient services. You will collaborate with clinical documentation specialists and other departments to support accurate billing and reduce denials. This position requires a strong understanding of surgical coding and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.Key Responsibilities:Assign accurate ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and/or CPT codes based on clinical documentation.Abstract and validate data in electronic medical record systems.Ensure coding accuracy rate of 95% or higher.Collaborate with HIM and Clinical Documentation teams to clarify documentation.Manage coding queues and resolve accounts on hold.Participate in audits and implement solutions to reduce errors.Maintain compliance with AHIMA’s Standards of Ethical Coding.
RequirementsEducation & Experience:High school diploma or equivalent required.Completion of an accredited Health Informatics, Health Information Management, or AHIMA-approved Coding Certificate Program preferred.2+ years of professional coding experience preferred.Strong surgical coding experience across multiple specialties is essential.Certifications:AHIMA or AAPC credentials required.Additional Requirements:Must reside in TX, LA, AR, NM, or GA.Ability to work independently in a remote setting.Strong written and verbal communication skills.High attention to detail and accuracy.
