The Yukon\-Kuskokwim Health Corporation is a Tribal health care organization, serving nearly 30,000 people living across rural, southwest Alaska in villages with populations from about 10 to more than 1,000\. We offer a broad range of employment opportunities and the chance to make a meaningful impact on the health of people in the region. ### **Position Summary:** The Healthcare Epidemiologist is a seasoned public health expert responsible for evaluating and analyzing data to understand the impact of healthcare services, policies, and delivery models on health outcomes. Working closely with the Outpatient Care and Village Health departments, the incumbent provides scientifically robust data, reports, and analyses to identify service gaps, suggest improvement strategies, and monitor progress towards reducing the region's disease and injury burden. The role demands an advanced understanding of public health, healthcare, and epidemiology principles, and the successful incumbent will ensure adherence to organizational policies and procedures concerning confidentiality and data security, especially when handling sensitive client information and protected health information. The Healthcare Epidemiologist will partner with clinical staff, public health teams, and other key internal and external stakeholders to evaluate program activities, recognize best practices, derive lessons learned, and facilitate program and policy enhancements. Additional duties may be assigned by the Director of Public Health or as directed by the Outpatient Care and Village Health Leadership Team. ### **Position Qualifications:** For successful performance of this role, the individual must be able to satisfactorily complete each essential duty. The requirements listed below demonstrate the knowledge, skill, and/or ability necessary. The incumbent must be capable of executing a full range of professional epidemiological tasks, with considerable independent judgment required for assignments that significantly affect services and programs. **Minimum Education:** Doctoral degree or higher from an accredited college or university in epidemiology, public health, or healthcare administration. May substitute experience at discretion of the Director. **Minimum Experience:** Direct work experience designing, analyzing, and conducting investigations to identify conditions affecting health outcomes, and using bio\-statistics to evaluate data. **License, Certification, Registration:** None **Equipment/Tools:** Proficiency with use of computers (desktop, laptop, tablet) and mobile devices (smartphones, mob
