Fractional CFO (Contract, Remote)

If you're an experienced Director of Finance, controller, VP of Finance, or in\-house CFO who's outgrown the walls of one company and is ready to take the next step, advising a portfolio of owners instead, this is your seat. Synergy Solutions is a fractional CFO and business\-management firm based in Belmont, New Hampshire. We serve owner\-operated companies across the US, mostly in the $2M to $50M revenue range. We're adding fractional CFOs to our bench. You'd report to our Head CFO. You're the client's most trusted financial advisor: the person who turns the numbers into decisions. You carry a book of clients and own the financial clarity of each one. A controller and bookkeeper handle the close and the day\-to\-day books behind you, so your time goes to strategy, forecasting, and sitting across the table from the owner. Half of this job is changing owner behavior, not fixing the spreadsheet. Founders need a coach as much as they need a model. ***The number that matters:*** *100% of client packages (P\&L, balance sheet, KPI dashboard, variance notes) delivered by the 15th, every month.* **What you'd own** * Financial planning and strategy: 12\-month forecasts built off the client's business plan, annual budgets with their leadership team, and actual\-vs\-budget variance analysis with course corrections * Rolling 13\-week cash flow forecasts, weekly cash monitoring, and financial risks flagged with lead time and a recommended action * The monthly financial package (P\&L, balance sheet, KPI dashboard, variance notes) delivered by the 15th, then a client meeting to walk them through it * The models behind the big calls: hiring, expansion, pricing. Plus benchmarking the client against their industry * Reviewing the Controller's work before it reaches the client, mentoring them on the hard accounting, and answering their questions within 24 hours **What we need from you** * You're currently a controller, VP of Finance, or in\-house CFO ready to trade one company for a portfolio, or you're already working as a fractional or outsourced CFO and want a firm behind you * Real CFO or senior finance experience with small and lower\-middle\-market businesses, not just corporate FP\&A * Fluency in QuickBooks Online and Excel or Google Sheets * A plain\-English communicator who can hold the room with a business owner * Forecasting you'll stand behind. Ours land within 5% of actuals. * Profit First or EOS/Traction experience is a plus. We'll teach you our operating system if you don't have it yet. **Where this goes** You start with one or two clients and grow your book as the fit proves out, with a controller and bookkeeper supporting you the whole way. As Synergy grows, so does the path above this seat, including leadership roles like Head CFO. **The arrangement** A contract seat with Synergy, remote.
