Job Description

Job Summary The Chemsure Inventory Planner leads the coordination and strategic management of inventory planning, asset returns, and fleet optimization initiatives across the Chemsure program within Veolia. This position serves as the primary subject matter expert for inventory and asset reverse logistics, driving cross-functional alignment with production, sales, commercial, and finance teams to ensure efficient ordering, planning, scheduling and execution. The role owns accurate asset records and takes initiative in identifying and executing continuous improvement opportunities that reduce cost, improve service, and enhance cash performance across the North American network.Cross-Functional PartnershipsProduction PlantCommercial / Sales TeamWarehouse & LogisticsFinanceEssential FunctionsLead cross-functional projects and drive process improvement initiatives from identification through implementation, delivering measurable results in cost, service, and operational efficiencyOwn and continuously optimize route planning for delivery specialists, applying data-driven analysis to maximize fleet efficiency, reduce fuel consumption, and ensure service quality such as on-time performanceDirect daily and weekly inventory planning and asset return scheduling to production facilities, ensuring alignment with customer demand signals and operational capacityServe as the primary analyst for fleet and inventory KPIs — building and maintaining reporting frameworks, identifying trends, and presenting actionable insights to leadershipLead S&OP alignment with the NAM Commercial team, translating demand forecasts and customer-specific needs into accurate inventory and manufacturing usage ratesOwn and maintain customer asset records and master data in SAP, ensuring accuracy across all asset ownership, movement, and return transactionsDevelop and manage annual working budgets for inventory planning operations using comprehensive data analysis and forward-looking business trend assessmentDrive continuous improvement by staying current with industry best practices, leading implementation of changes that enhance fleet and inventory planning effectiveness, and evaluating new tools and technologiesManage SAP architecture updates and purchase order processing related to warehousing expansion and logistics infrastructure changesProvide formal knowledge transfer and training to team members on purchasing processes, cross-departmental workflows, and system procedures as headcount growsInitiate and enforce communication cadence with sales representatives and commercial partners regarding inventory needs, asset pickups, and return logisticsKnowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Excel skills for data modeling, KPI reporting, and operational analysisKnowledge of DOT regulations applicable to freight and logistics operationsStrong organizational and communication skills; proven ability to lead complex, multi-party logistics workflows independentlyAbility to engage and lead multiple competing priorities in a high-volume, fast-paced environmentMRP experience and ERP system proficiency, preferably SAP, including master data maintenance and PO processingSales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process knowledge and demonstrated cross-functional collaboration experienceData analytics and problem-solving skills; ability to translate data into operational decisions and drive them to completionPreferred:Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt or higher certificationPrior supply chain operations and chemical manufacturing experienceProject management experience leading cross-functional initiativesExcellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to drive change across functions and organizational levelsEducation & Experience Required:Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related fieldMinimum 5 years of progressive experience in logistics, supply chain, or inventory planning, including demonstrated ownership of planning functions and cross-functional coordinationPreferred:APICS, CPIM, or Lean/Six Sigma certificationExperience supporting multi-site or national-scale logistics operationsChemical manufacturing, specialty chemical, or industrial services backgroundAt Veolia, we realize diverse teams make smarter decisions, deliver better results, and build stronger communities.
