**Job description:** Underwriter 100% Remote \| Full\-Time \& Part\-Time Opportunities HOVIN Underwriting Partners, Inc. is seeking experienced Underwriters to support a diverse portfolio of client work across the life insurance industry. These are fully remote positions, available on both a full\-time and part\-time basis, offering flexibility without sacrificing meaningful underwriting authority or professional collaboration. This role is ideal for seasoned underwriters who value quality risk assessment, autonomy, and working with a highly experienced underwriting organization. Role Overview As an Underwriter, you will independently evaluate and underwrite individual life insurance applications while serving as a trusted resource for clients, associates, and internal underwriting teams. You will exercise meaningful approval authority, contribute to mentoring and peer consultation, and help uphold HOVIN’s underwriting standards across multiple client engagements. Key Responsibilities * Independently underwrite individual life insurance applications in accordance with HOVIN and client\-specific guidelines * Perform comprehensive medical and non\-medical risk assessments and clearly document underwriting decisions * Communicate underwriting decisions, requirements, and adverse actions professionally and effectively * Apply sound underwriting judgment * Exercise individual underwriting authority up to $3,000,000–$5,000,000, subject to client limits * Provide concurrence and consultation support to other underwriters when needed * Collaborate with senior underwriters, medical directors, reinsurers, and client stakeholders * Maintain productivity, quality, and turnaround time expectations * Support retention and reinsurance awareness within underwriting decisions * Stay current on underwriting trends, regulatory considerations, and industry best practices * Mentor junior underwriters and contribute to a collaborative team environment * Represent HOVIN professionally in client meetings and industry engagements as needed Qualifications \& Experience * Bachelor’s degree or equivalent business experience * 5–7\+ years of life underwriting experience, including direct writer and/or reinsurance exposure * Demonstrated ability to independently assess standard and substandard risks * Industry coursework required, including LOMA and ALU (or progress toward completion) Technical Knowledge * Strong working knowledge of: * Anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and medical impairments * Medical terminology, lab results, and ECG interpretation * Non\-medical risk factors including occupation, aviation, avocations, driving history, and foreign travel * Ability to analyze medical, financial, and legal documentation with accuracy and consistency Professional Skills * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Strong analytical, decision\-making, and organizational abilities * Ability to explain underwriting decisions clearly and professionally * C
