Canopie is a digital maternal health company supporting pregnant and postpartum individuals through structured, evidence-based support, education, and care navigation. We meet members where they are offering fully virtual access to coaching, classes, and clinical resources across the perinatal journey. Maternal Health Peer Specialists play a critical role in the care continuum by offering empathetic, experience-informed support. This role helps ensure members feel seen, understood, and empowered to make decisions that align with their own values, needs, and circumstances. Peer support is not about directing decisions—it's about creating space, sharing perspective when appropriate, and helping members navigate what feels right for them. What You'll Do Provide virtual peer support to members across pregnancy and postpartum, grounded in lived experienceOffer empathetic listening, validation, and encouragement through key perinatal transitionsShare personal insights when appropriate to normalize experiences and reduce isolationConduct outreach and engagement using structured workflows and communication toolsSupport members in navigating common challenges (emotional wellbeing, identity shifts, recovery, feeding, sleep, returning to work)Encourage connection to Canopie services (coaching, classes, clinical care) based on member needsRecognize when additional or clinical support may be needed and follow defined escalation pathwaysDocument interactions clearly and consistently within Canopie's platformCommunicate with members via phone, video, and secure messagingParticipate in training, supervision, and peer support development Scope & Boundaries This is a non-clinical role and does not provide medical or mental health treatmentPeer Specialists do not diagnose or direct care decisionsThe focus is on support, connection, and helping members navigate available resourcesClear escalation pathways are in place for clinical or higher-risk needs Requirements Who Thrives in This Role Required Lived experience with pregnancy and/or the postpartum period within the last :3-5 yearsAbility to thoughtfully reflect on and use personal experience to support others in a balanced, appropriate waySome experience in maternal health, peer support, community-based work, or caregiving rolesComfortable providing virtual support and building connection in a digital environmentStrong interpersonal and communication skills with a warm, non-judgmental approachAbility to follow structured workflows while maintaining authenticity in interactionsStrong digital literacy (video platforms, messaging tools, documentation systems)Reliable, organized, and responsive in a remote setting Preferred Experience in peer support roles (formal or informal)Exposure to perinatal mental health, coaching, or support groupsBackground working with diverse or underserved populationsBilingual (Spanish/English) Schedule & Commitment Part-time contractor role (approximately 20 hours/week; varies by program needs)Availability during business hours required; evening and weekend availability is a plus Benefits Fully remote, digital-first care modelOngoing clinical training, peer consultation, and supervisionOpportunity to help build equitable access to maternal health support at scale Please mention the word **ENTHUSIASTICALLY** and tag RMmEwMTo0Zjg6MWMxZTo4MzUyOjox when applying to show you read the job post completely (#RMmEwMTo0Zjg6MWMxZTo4MzUyOjox).
