Book Keeper

**Job Overview** We are seeking a detail\-oriented **Part\-Time Bookkeeper** to support daily financial operations at our Pilot Travel Center. This role focuses on bank and credit card reconciliations, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring all licenses and registrations are up to date. **This is an in\-person position. Remote work is not available.** **Schedule** * **Part\-Time (16 hours/week)** * **Monday–Thursday** * **Hours: 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM Can be slightly flexible** **Key Responsibilities** **Financial Reconciliation** * Perform **daily bank reconciliations** * Reconcile **credit card transactions** (fuel, in\-store, and vendor charges) * Match POS system (Petrosoft) sales with deposits * Investigate and resolve discrepancies * Managing the daily sheets from the Pilot convenience store and reconciling daily sales. **Reporting \& Communication** * Maintain organized financial records and reports * Communicate with management and vendors via **email** * Assist with weekly/monthly summaries **Licenses \& Compliance** * Track and manage **licenses, permits, and registrations** * Ensure timely renewals and proper documentation for audits **Vendor \& Invoice Oversight** * Verify fuel deliveries against invoices * Follow up with vendors via email to resolve billing issues **Qualifications (Required)** * Prior experience as a **bookkeeper or accounting assistant** * Strong experience with: * **Microsoft Excel** * **Professional email communication** * Understanding of **bank and credit card reconciliations** * High attention to detail and strong organizational skills * Ability to work independently and stay consistent with daily tasks **Preferred Experience** * Experience in **gas stations, truck stops, or retail environments** * Familiarity with **Petrosoft or similar POS/accounting systems** * Experience managing **licenses and compliance in New Jersey** **Compensation** * **$23–$25/hour (based on experience)** * Consistent morning schedule * Opportunity to grow within a multi\-location operation **Additional Note** * Applicants may be asked to complete a short **Excel\-based reconciliation test** Pay: $23\.00 \- $25\.00 per hour Work Location: In person
