Job Summary The Business Analytics Practice Lead is responsible to build and lead a consulting practice focused on helping our clients’ executives leverage analytics to drive measurable business outcomes. This role will define our analytics advisory approach, create executive-level insight frameworks, and develop reusable analytics content and tools on the Omni and Microsoft BI, and Infor Birst platforms.The ideal candidate combines strong business acumen, analytics expertise, and consulting leadership experience. The Business Analytics Practice Lead will act as a trusted advisor to senior customer stakeholders while building scalable methodologies while growing a small, high-impact team. This role is a business oriented, strategic leader, and a technical expert.Key ResponsibilitiesPractice Development & StrategyDesign and launch a business analytics consulting practice aligned to customer needs in the mid-market ERP space.Define service offerings, engagement models, and value proposition for executive audiencesEstablish repeatable frameworks, methodologies, best practices for services delivery.Serve as technical lead and mentor for BI developers and analystsAnalytics & Reporting LeadershipLead the design, development, and deployment of analytics solutions using Power BI, Birst and OmniPartner with business stakeholders to define KPIs, metrics, and analytics requirementsEnsure alignment between business definitions, semantic models, and reporting outputsDeliver actionable insights that support executive, operational, and strategic decision-makingPower BI & Omni DevelopmentDevelop and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and datasetsBuild and manage Omni analytics to ensure consistent metric definitions across toolsDefine business logic centrally in Omni analytics to support governed self-service analyticsWrite and optimize DAX measures and Omni metricsManage Power BI Service workspaces, apps, permissions, and refresh schedulesData Modeling & ArchitectureDesign dimensional and star-schema data models optimized for BI and analytics use casesCollaborate with data engineering teams on data pipelines, transformations, and warehouse designSupport Omni’s semantic layer integration with cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, Big Query, Redshift, Azure Synapse)Ensure performance, scalability, and reliability of analytics solutionsGovernance, Security & Best PracticesEstablish analytics governance standards across Power BI and OmniImplement and manage row-level security (RLS) and access controlsMaintain documentation for semantic models, KPIs, dashboards, and data definitionsPromote best practices for version control, deployment, and testingRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)5+ years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, or data roles3+ years of hands-on Power BI experienceExperience building or managing semantic layers (Omni, LookML, dbt metrics, or similar)Strong skills in DAX, SQL, and data modelingExperience working with modern cloud data warehousesStrong communication skills with the ability to explain data concepts to non-technical audiencesPreferred QualificationsHands-on experience with Omni AnalyticsExperience leading analytics or BI teams in a consulting environmentMicrosoft Power BI certification (PL-300 or equivalent)Experience with Snowflake, Azure Synapse, BigQuery, or RedshiftFamiliarity with dbt, CI/CD for analytics, or modern data stack toolingExperience delivering executive and enterprise-level dashboardsKey CompetenciesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to balance hands-on development with strategic leadershipPassion for data governance, metric consistency, and trusted analyticsCollaborative mindset with strong stakeholder engagement skillsOriginally posted on Himalayas
