Job Details at a Glance Job Type: Contract / Temporary (approximately 30 days) Schedule: Monday–Friday, flexible hours (minimum 5 hours per day) Location: Fully remote — must be based in the United States Pay: Competitive hourly rate — negotiable based on experience Start Date: Immediate About the Role Bates Consultants is a property data and real estate consulting firm. We are looking for a professional, U.S.\-based phone caller to contact government utility offices and code enforcement departments across Georgia and Alabama. Your job is simple: call each office, reach the right person in their billing or records department, and request a list of property addresses that are 30 or more days delinquent on utility payments or that have active shut\-off notices. You will also ask each contact to send us an updated list on a monthly basis going forward. This is not a sales role. You are requesting publicly available records that government offices are legally required to provide under Georgia's Open Records Act and Alabama's Open Records Law. Most contacts are cooperative once the request is clearly explained. What You Will Do * Make 60–80 outbound calls per day to utility offices and code enforcement departments * Identify and speak with the billing clerk or records contact at each office * Clearly explain the public records request and obtain agreement to provide the address list * Ask each contact to send an updated list on a monthly basis * Log every call outcome accurately in a shared Google Sheet in real time * Flag any offices that require a written FOIA request — owner handles all written follow\-up * Send the owner a brief daily update on call volume and contacts secured Requirements * Must be based in the United States — U.S. accent and clear spoken English required * Professional, confident phone presence — comfortable speaking with government clerks and municipal staff * Reliable computer, high\-speed internet, and a quiet environment for calls * Comfortable with Google Sheets for real\-time data entry * Detail\-oriented — accurate logging of names, emails, and call outcomes is essential * Able to work independently and hit daily call targets without close supervision * Good judgment — knows when to be persistent and when to back off and let the owner escalate Preferred Experience (Not Required) * Prior experience calling government offices, county departments, or public agencies * Familiarity with public records or FOIA requests * Background in administrative outreach, research calling, or real estate support roles * Experience working with a small business owner or in a virtual assistant capacity What We Provide * Complete call list — approximately 945 utility offices and code enforcement departments * Detailed call script and Standard Operating Procedure document * Shared Google Sheet tracker — pre\-built and ready to use * Loom video walkthrough so you can get started fast * Direct access to the business owne
