Job Description

**Location:** UCHealth Anschutz Inpt Pavilion,Aurora, CO **Department:** Burn Trauma Unit Work Schedule: Full Time, 72\.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks) **Shift:** Day and Night Rotation **Pay:** $19\.67 \- $25\.57 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote option **Summary:** Assists RNs in providing wound care. Coordinates setting up trays, assisting with dressing changes, discarding soiled supplies and cleaning equipment. May transport patients, obtain vital signs, assist in equipment set\-up, manage supplies and equipment and apply and remove splints. **Responsibilities:** * In conjunction with the RN caring for patient, prioritizes and organizes burn dressing changes. Assists in performing wound care. Cleans area and equipment. * Utilizes clean technique for dressing changes and observes appropriate infection control precautions. Maintains supplies based on progress of wound care. May assist in collecting specimens, use specialized equipment, restraint monitoring and patient elimination procedures. * Uses, stores and maintains shower carts, shower room hydrotherapy tub, plinth, electrocautery unit, critical care bed sling scale, patient warmers, specialty beds, gurneys, and blanket/fluid warmer. Assists the RN in replacing suction canisters; stocking rooms; emptying trash, linen and Foley bags; weighing patients; making beds; transporting patients; transferring patients. * Assists Physical and Occupational therapists with ROM, splints, and exercise plans. Assists in positioning patient with complex mobility needs. Assists in orienting and mentoring staff. Reports equipment malfunctions to supervisors. Maintains inventory according to appropriate PAR level. Performs clerical duties. * Maintains a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients/families in accordance with hospital standards. Demonstrates appropriate emergency and patient safety procedures. Meets unit specific clinical competencies that may include instruction in advanced skills. * Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast\-paced environment and take appropriate action. **Requirements:** * Minimum Required Education: High School diploma or GED. Required Licensure/Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider. Minimum Experience: Current acute care and/or long term care, nursing assistant experience. * BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in\-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire. Employees are our number one asset.
