Job DescriptionCSCI Consulting is looking for a Systems Accountant to support our Department of War (DoW) client. In this role, the consultant will serves as the primary technical and accounting liaison between the Agency’s Property Management Systems and the Core Financial System. This role ensures that all property-related transactions including acquisitions, transfers, and disposals are accurately recorded in accordance with USSGL standards and reflected correctly in the financial statements.ResponsibilitiesMonitor and troubleshoot daily interfaces between the Accountable Property System of Record (APSR) and the USSGLConduct root-cause analysis on "out-of-balance" conditions or failed system-generated transactionsCoordinate with IT and Functional teams to resolve technical "handshake" errors between procurement and accounting modulesEnsure all automated system entries for the 1700 (General Property, Plant, and Equipment) and 1500 (Inventory and Related Property) series accounts adhere to the Treasury’s pro forma entriesValidate that depreciation, capitalization thresholds, and gain/loss on disposals are calculated correctly within the system logicSupport the preparation of the Notes to the Financial Statements related to property and inventoryPerform monthly and quarterly reconciliations between the subsidiary property records and the general ledger control accountsProvide evidential matter for Financial Statement Audits (e.g., FIAR compliance) to prove the existence and completeness of property recordsRepresent the Financial Management team during system upgrades or the implementation of new ERP modulesDevelop and execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT) scripts to verify that system changes do not negatively impact the USSGL posting logicMinimum RequirementsBachelor’s degree in a related fieldHolds a DoW Secret clearanceCreativity and adaptability in problem-solvingAbility to work with clients to understand their needsStrong organizational and time-management skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProfessional presencePreferred SkillsAbility to work in a team environment, as well as independentlyStrong customer and vendor relationship skillsDemonstrated ability to comply with data standards and policiesMotivation to learn new technologies and methodologies that demonstrate valuePast experience working with a Federal agencyDepartment of War experience is a plus!About CSCICSCI is an award-winning information technology and financial management consulting firm founded on one simple philosophy: “Do what is right, always.” We apply this philosophy across all elements of our growing business, from delivering world-class services for customers to providing an environment where associates thrive both personally and professionally.
