Job Description
**Overview**
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail\-oriented Full Charge Bookkeeper to join our dynamic public affairs company as a Part\-Time with a Flexible schedule, Fully Remote associate reporting directly to the VP of Administration and Operations. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing the full spectrum of accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance across all day\-to\-day financial processes in support of multiple companies. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your accounting skills in a environment where precision and efficiency are paramount.
**Responsibilities**
* Manage all aspects of bookkeeping including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing using various accounting software such as QuickBooks and Paychex.
* Perform general ledger accounting, journal entries, account reconciliations, and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.
* Oversee payroll management ensuring timely and correct employee payments.
* Maintain compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and governmental accounting standards while preparing financial statements and reports.
* Conduct data entry with high accuracy, supporting month\-end closing processes and year\-end audits.
* Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts regularly to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
* Assist with tax preparation activities and ensure adherence to relevant tax regulations and filings, if needed.
**Requirements**
* Proven 5 years experience as a Full Charge Bookkeeper or in a similar role within corporate or private sector accounting environments.
* Strong proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms, is a plus.
* Knowledge of GAAP, governmental accounting standards, and non\-profit accounting practices.
* Familiarity with payroll systems including Paychex along with payroll management best practices.
* Demonstrated ability to perform account analysis, account reconciliation, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliation accurately.
* Excellent understanding of financial concepts such as debits \& credits, double entry bookkeeping, and general ledger management.
* Strong math skills coupled with attention to detail for data entry and account analysis tasks.
* Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining high standards of accuracy and confidentiality.
* Experience with financial software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft or Ceridian is highly desirable; familiarity with SOX compliance is advantageous.
