Location Designation: Fully Remote Content Designer, Consumer Optimization (AI & SEO)New York Life is evolving its consumer digital ecosystem to better support prospects and clients across awareness, education, and decision-making journeys. As search behavior shifts and AI increasingly shapes how consumers discover information, content must be clear, structured, and performance-driven.We’re seeking a Content Designer, Consumer Optimization (AI & SEO) to execute and optimize consumer-facing content across NYL.com and related digital channels. This role translates strategy into high-performing, well-structured content that improves discoverability, usability, and engagement. This includes supporting and optimizing core product/solution pages, FAQ content, educational content, and campaign landing experiences to ensure content is intuitive and discoverable for both users and search.You’ll partner closely with the Content Strategist, AI & Consumer Experiences, along with Marketing, Design, Product, Analytics, and Compliance teams to modernize and continuously improve consumer digital content.Key Responsibilities:Performance-Driven Content ExecutionWrite and refine consumer-facing content across NYL.com and related digital properties, including product/solution pages, educational content, FAQ libraries, and campaign landing experiences.Translate search and AI strategy into optimized, structured page updates.Improve clarity, scannability, and usability of high-traffic and conversion-focused pages.Enhance metadata, internal linking, and page structure to support discoverability and performance.Optimization & IterationAnalyze content performance data to identify opportunities for improvement.Conduct content testing and iterate based on engagement, behavioral, and conversion insights.Support content refresh and modernization initiatives to keep consumer content current and effective.Partner with Analytics to measure and refine content performance over time.Structured Content & UX AlignmentApply structured content standards and tagging frameworks to improve consistency and reuse.Ensure content aligns with established consumer journey architecture and messaging patterns.Collaborate with Design and Product teams to support intuitive page layouts and interaction flows.Maintain compliance and regulatory alignment across consumer-facing content.What Success Looks LikeConsumer-facing content is clear, accessible, and easy to understand for both human audiences and AI.Content demonstrates measurable improvements in engagement and conversion and is discoverable across traditional search and AI-driven search.Customers demonstrate improved comprehension and confidence when engaging with product/solution and educational financial content.Digital experiences reinforce trust and transparency at key decision points.Content helps consumers understand the breadth of New York Life’s solutions beyond life insurance.QualificationsEducationBachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Journalism, UX Writing, Marketing, or a related field — or equivalent professional experience.Experience5–7 years of experience in digital content, UX writing, SEO-focused writing, or content optimization roles.Experience working within cross-functional digital product or marketing teams.Demonstrated experience improving content performance through structured updates and iteration.Experience in financial services or other regulated industries preferred.Portfolio demonstrating measurable impact on digital performance strongly preferred.Technical ExpertiseStrong understanding of on-page SEO principles and content performance metrics.Experience working within CMS platforms and structured content environments.Ability to interpret analytics and behavioral data to inform content decisions.Familiarity with schema and structured content principles preferred.Knowledge of accessibility and inclusive design best practices.Please include writing samples or portfolio as a document or link with your resume when applying. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
