Discover what it’s like to be a part of the Fairbanks Morse Defense team here: https://www.fairbanksmorsedefense.com/careersSummaryThe Vice President Supply Chain, reporting to the COO of Fairbanks Morse Defense (FMD) will be responsible for developing and leading the strategic planning and execution of procurement, materials and logistics to ensure production efficiency, quality, service, and cost-effective management of resources to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction. This position will also be responsible for the implementation and evaluation of all supply chain logistics activities and procedures and implementing standard practices, including, but not limited to, production planning, SIOP, material procurement, inventory control, outsourcing, and vendor selection. This role will work in partnership with business stakeholders in the FMD portfolio of businesses and Arcline to develop and execute sourcing strategies and contract negotiations to drive optimal supplier value and deliver continuous cost, performance, and process improvement.Principle Duties and ResponsibilitiesDevelop people, standard processes, and systems to deliver excellent service to our global customersDrive operational excellence and best practices across the network, reducing costs year over yearImprove feedback to customers, creating, improving, and implementing processes to provide more accurate, timely information for their needs.Work with cross business unit teams, taking a lead role in negotiating key supply contractsLead the development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures used by each business unit in the area of supply chain managementDefine KPIs and execute compliance and performance monitoring of Global Supply Chain operations – define and maintain performance dashboards to monitor team performanceMonitor industry trends to assess their impact on FMD and incorporate their impact into strategic plans/prioritiesEstablish key supply chain relationships with vendors and strategic suppliers, drive for efficiencies, oversee supplier evaluation, selection and engagement including the development of data analysis and clear, robust business requirements to support informed supplier decisions.Must be capable of translating objectives and needs into deliverable strategy to achieve business goals as well as ensure the value chain has the required materials to create a competitive advantage of the product portfolio. Communicate and coordinate between departments to influence change and issue resolution, often requiring ability to operate in a matrix environment or influence peers or other leaders.Support the supply chain group to create strategic supplier relationships, with reduced number of overall suppliers, long-term pricing concessions and material savings, and inventory management techniques.Work with Arcline to support portfolio wide supply chain initiatives.Qualifications and Educational RequirementsBachelor’s Degree with significant coursework in business or mechanical engineering related subjects. MBA preferred by not requiredA minimum of ten years of business experience in global supply chain operations with both OEM and MRO components in a defense and commercial environment.APICS certification desirableWorking knowledge and experience with Enterprise Requirements Planning (ERP) systems. Oracle experience is a plusAbility to work in a team-oriented environment that is fast paced and demandingStrong leadership, communication, and decision-making skillsDemonstrated creative problem-solving skills; change agent; comfort with ambiguityMust be self-directed, have excellent initiatives, organizational, written, and verbal communication skillsAbility to work in a matrix organizationDomestic and some limited international travel requiredThis position includes access or potential access to export-controlled data.
