Director, Strategy (Value Creation Team) LLR Partners is looking for a high-caliber Strategy Director to join our Value Creation Team (VCT). LLR’s VCT works collaboratively with the LLR investment teams and management teams of our portfolio companies to help accelerate growth by providing experience-based strategic insight, rigorous analysis, and best practice sharing.The RoleThe Strategy Director will serve as a leader within the LLR VCT, owning the strategy function and working closely with other VCT leaders to accelerate growth across the portfolio. The Director will report to and partner closely with the Managing Director, Product & Strategy.This role is central in enabling LLR’s portfolio companies to make data-driven strategic decisions and translate investment theses into actionable, multi-year value creation plans (VCP). The Director will collaborate with the LLR investment teams and portfolio companies across the investment lifecycle. This includes commercial diligence support for new investments, VCP development during onboarding, targeted strategic support mid-hold, and exit readiness.Specific responsibilities include:Serve as the functional lead for strategy within the VCT, setting team priorities and owning strategy-related frameworks, processes, and project outputsPartner with the Managing Director and other VCT leaders to advance LLR’s overall value creation agendaContinuously develop the strategy function within the VCT, including codifying best practices and establishing repeatable approaches / playbooks to value creationWork closely with the VCT, LLR investment teams, and portfolio leadership to develop, implement, and assess key strategic initiatives to drive accelerated growthLead multi-year strategic planning and value creation plan (VCP) workshops with portfolio leadership and LLR investment teams to align on value drivers, strategic priorities, and key strategic initiativesConduct and oversee in-depth research & analyses, synthesizing information to create strategic fact bases, executive-ready materials, and strategic planning documentsSupport investment teams during commercial diligence for new platform and add-on investments, including advising on market study scope, vendor selection, and strategic implicationsLead and manage relationships with external vendors (e.g., strategy consultancies, market research shops)Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required; MBA strongly preferred10+ years of experience at a top-tier strategy consulting firm and/or operational experience leading strategy in a corporate setting; a mix of both is a nice-to-haveExperience in a high growth, lower middle market environment preferred; direct experience with SaaS or highly recurring revenue business models requiredExperience leading buy-side commercial diligence projects for private equity clients at a consultancy preferredProven ability to work closely with CXOs and independently run strategic planning workshopsHigh degree of emotional intelligence and a low ego, with the ability to navigate complex stakeholder dynamicsStrong executive presence (written and verbal), relationship building, strong decision-making skillsAbility and willingness to “roll-up sleeves” and work as an independent contributor, when neededLLR Partners is a lower middle market private equity firm focused on investing in software and tech-enabled companies within the knowledge economy.
