Education Course Editor - Literacy FocusCourse Editors play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of our credit-recommended college courses. This project aims to enhance and update college-level courses to ensure they meet current academic standards and industry requirements. This is an online, remote contract role. All work is paid hourlyProject DescriptionYou will review and edit existing college-level Literacy Instruction course structure and materials designed to prepare educators to teach reading and writing. This is expected to include tasks such as (but not limited to):Evaluating and adjusting recommended updates to existing course structureReviewing course learning outcomes and competencies for accuracy and alignment with current literacy pedagogy and teacher preparation standardsEditing skill-oriented course sections and ensuring proper organization of topics such as reading instruction methods, writing pedagogy, literacy assessment strategies, and differentiated instructionReviewing and refining response assignment prompts and rubricsEvaluating existing multiple choice questions for quality and accuracyRequired Skills:Master's degree or higher in Literacy Education, Reading Education, Language Arts Education, or a closely related fieldExperience teaching literacy methods or teacher preparation courses in a college or university settingExperience creating, updating, or revising courses at a college or university levelStrong working knowledge of evidence-based literacy instructional methods, reading development theory, and K-12 literacy standardsAdditional Preferred Skills:Strong time management skills to meet due datesReceptiveness to feedback and willingness to revise submitted work as neededAbility to collaborate with curriculum designers to create high-quality course deliverables2+ years of experience teaching courses in a college or university settingWhat We Offer:Reliable Payments: You'll receive payments twice a month and automated invoicing for your work.Remote Work: This is a fully online contracted work-from-home opportunity.Flexibility: Basically, there are no requirements!
