WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FORRefinedScience is seeking an experienced Clinical Data Manager 2 or Senior with medical care experience to join an interdisciplinary team of computational biologists, data scientists, data engineers, cancer biologists, and clinicians who are seeking to develop new therapies for cancer and other diseases. Must have medical data abstraction or chart review experience. KEY ACTIVITIESData abstractionCollaborate in the development and maintenance of documentation of data definitions and abstraction proceduresEfficiently identify and abstract pathology, treatment and other clinical data from medical records that is thorough and accurateMaintain REDCap database for disease area(s)Quality controlThink critically to identify potential problems affecting the abstraction process for improvement and quality controlPerform quality review on work completed by other data abstractorsReview data quality dashboards and make correctionsAddress data quality questions from a multidisciplinary team of data scientists, bioinformaticians, and clinical scientistsManage process documentationMultidisciplinary TeamworkTranslation of healthcare and clinical concepts for data engineering workCoordination with clinicians for clarification on abstraction procedures and clinical conceptsSupport the multidisciplinary team in automated abstraction activitiesMUST HAVESBachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field2+ years of data abstraction experience including knowledge of basic medical terminology and the use of electronic medical recordsOrganized with great attention to detail and a commitment to accuracyWilling to learn and ask questionsPossess high levels of curiosity, initiative, and self-motivationFlexible to adapt in a rapidly growing startup environmentManage time well and be able to prioritizeTeam player who is collaborative and can work in an independent environmentHandle problems in a solutions-oriented mannerCommitment to ensuring regulatory compliance and confidentialityNICE TO HAVESPrior experience in a healthcare or research setting with oncology or blood cancersPrior experience with analysis of datasets, biostatistics, or SQLFamiliarity with research data capture systems (e.g., REDCap or other EDC platforms).Familiarity with AI tools such as Claude and GeminiWHY YOU’LL LOVE REFINED SCIENCE Team + ValuesAt RefinedScience, we seamlessly integrate top-tier clinical and biological data with expert knowledge to provide unparalleled insights.
