With $1B\+ in revenue across 13 brands, our portfolio includes Sur La Table, Backcountry, One Kings Lane, and others that serve as real\-world innovation labs. **Reports to:** Chief Technology Officer **Location:** Costa Rica (Remote); Toronto, Ontario (Hybrid/Remote) ### **About the Role** As **Senior Front End Engineer**, you will work across the full front\-end stack, partnering with product, design, and back\-end engineers to deliver features that reach millions of customers. At the 6–12 month mark, success looks like having shipped meaningful improvements to core user experiences, established yourself as a technical leader through code reviews and mentorship, and actively integrated AI\-driven tooling into your development workflow. This is a lean team. You will own a lot, move fast, and make decisions with full end\-to\-end responsibility. ### **What You'll Do** * Develop well\-designed, testable, and scalable web applications using React, TypeScript, and modern frameworks. * Explore and integrate AI tools to streamline development and improve user engagement. * Deliver new features and optimize existing experiences at speed and scale within an agile workflow. * Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and mentor junior engineers. * Write and maintain unit tests and automated test suites to ensure code quality and reliability. * Partner closely with product, design, and back\-end engineering to ship cohesive end\-to\-end features. * Stay current with the latest trends in front\-end engineering, design patterns, and AI\-driven development. ### **Required Qualifications** * 5\+ years building complex, high\-performing web applications. * Deep expertise in React and JavaScript ES6/TypeScript. * Solid understanding of web performance, accessibility, and security best practices. * Proven track record of writing clean, maintainable, and testable code. * Strong problem\-solving, debugging, and analytical skills. * Excellent collaboration and communication abilities. ### **Preferred Qualifications** * UX/UI design sensibilities and experience collaborating closely with design teams. * Functional programming experience. * Hands\-on exposure to AI development tools such as ChatGPT, Copilot, or similar. ### **Why Join** The people who do best here are builders.
