Job Description
**Operations Associate — Sunset Trivia**
**Part\-Time · 15–20 hrs/week · $22–$25/hour DOE · Remote (San Diego\-based) with occasional in\-person**
**About Us**
Sunset Trivia runs 150\+ weekly trivia events across California, Nevada, Arizona, and Utah, helping bars, breweries, and restaurants turn slow nights into packed ones. We're growing quickly — especially in markets beyond our San Diego home base — and we're looking for someone to help keep it all running smoothly behind the scenes.
**The Role**
You'll be the operational backbone for our events outside San Diego — the Bay Area, Phoenix, Sacramento, Reno, Salt Lake City, Fresno, Orange County, and beyond. On event nights, you're the person our hosts reach when they have a question, a tech issue, or a last\-minute emergency. Between those moments, you'll drive projects that help the whole company grow: supporting our Director of Sales, engaging our host community, and running special\-event and marketing operations.
This is not a micromanaged role. You'll be expected to take ownership, solve problems quickly, and keep things moving without constant direction. It's a great fit for someone who wants meaningful responsibility on a part\-time schedule — and there's real room to grow with us as we expand.
**Schedule**
* **Evening shift: Monday–Thursday, 6:00–9:00 PM Pacific (12 hrs/week), remote.** You're actively available on Connecteam during this window as first responder for host inquiries and event issues. Some nights are quiet; some (especially Tuesdays \& Wednesdays) are busy. During quiet stretches, you'll work through your project queue — this shift is working time, not just standby.
* **Flexible daytime hours: \~5–8 hrs/week, scheduled around your availability.** Host recruiting calls, team syncs, venue outreach support, onboarding sessions, and anything that needs business\-hours attention.
* **Occasional in\-person:** hosting trivia events at San Diego venues when coverage is needed (intermittent), plus occasional support at special events.
**What You'll Do**
**Host Operations (primary — evenings)**
* Serve as first responder on our staffing platform for host questions, scheduling issues, and event\-night troubleshooting for our out\-of\-San\-Diego markets
* Handle last\-minute callouts: activate backup hosts, coordinate with venues, and keep events on track
* Monitor event execution and flag recurring issues so we can fix root causes
**Host Community \& Team Building (daytime \+ between events)**
* Recruit, interview, onboard, and train new hosts in our remote markets — building a reliable backup bench in each region is a core goal of this role
* Foster our internal host community: regular check\-ins, sharing wins, keeping hosts engaged and supported
* Help maintain host scheduling, documentation, and training materials
**Sales \& Growth Support (daytime \+ evening project time)**
* Support our Director of Sales: prospect research, outreach list building, follow\-up coor
