Job Description
T5 Data Centers is searching for Finance Project Controls who will be responsible the financial and contractual authority on construction projects, responsible for ensuring alignment between budget, commitments, contract terms, and financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle. This role operates as a strategic partner to Operations, providing financial oversight, risk identification, and commercial guidance while maintaining strict adherence to contractual and audit requirements. They will work directly with the operations team, finance team, and assigned clients to provide financial analysis and reporting as required. The ideal candidate will have a have a proven track record as a financial business partner, financial modeling capabilities, and be proficient in the use of financial and project systems and tools to manage processes and data efficiently.RESPONSIBILITIESFinancial accuracy and reporting integrityContract compliance and enforceabilityBudget control and forecastingTransparent communication across stakeholdersReview of all project contracts with Project Management and Operations Leadership prior to executionSet up and structure of projects in Procore to include budgets and cost codes, Owner Schedule of Values (SOV), and project commitmentsOversight of budget throughout the lifecycle of the projectMaintaining the project budget, contract values, commitments, and change ordersIdentifying any gaps in the budget, misalignments of costs, and unsupported valuesTracking actuals vs budget, commitment vs remaining, and forecast to completion while diligently reviewing to identify cost overruns and financial risks earlyDocument and oversee financial policies and processes for specific customer deliverablesValidate invoices are tied to approved commitments that align with contractual commitmentsEnsure all documentation is complete and accurate to include Pay applications and continuation sheets, lien waivers, documentation for stored materials, and owner-required backupPreparation and coordination of Owner Pay Applications ensuring alignment with Prime Contract SOV, costs, and all compliance documentationPrepare and review monthly execution reports with operational leadershipAssist with process-improvement, automation, systems integration and enhancement projects as assignedAssist with other duties as assignedEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEBachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or project management required4‐8 years’ experience in a similar role, requiredAn MBA is a plus, or it can be applied towards the experience requirementPrevious business partnering, data center, or NetSuite experience is a plusKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND COMPETENCIESIn‐depth knowledge of finance operations and job costingKnowledge of financial analysis and forecastingStrong proficiency in the use of MS Excel, MS Office and financial management softwareProficiency in Procore or other relatable Project Management SoftwareAnalytical thinker with the ability to strategize and solve problemsSuperior attention to detail for accurate financial reporting and identification of discrepancies and risksProactive in building trusting relationships and following up on action itemsCustomer‐focused with a hospitality mindsetAbility to manage multiple tasks under strict deadlines while working independentlyExcellent organizational and leadership skillsOutstanding communication and interpersonal abilitiesHandle confidential information in a sensitive and professional mannerPhysical RequirementsMust be able to work at a computer for the entirety of each working day, requiredAbility and willingness for periodic travel (<10%) to offsite customer locations, requiredOriginally posted on Himalayas
