In this vital role you will have the opportunity to manage coverage and pricing strategy for products in both pharmacy and medical benefits as well as leading development of lifecycle pricing and access strategies in preparation for Otezla’s loss of exclusivity. To do this you will gather, analyze, and synthesize information across a variety of sources to support scenario-planning and customer insight development. In this dynamic and fast-paced environment, the candidate will be a key partner with the Market Access and Contracting teams for coverage and pricing negotiations. This role interacts cross functionally with Value Strategy & Marketing, Patient Access, Ecosystems & Insights, Sales, Brand Marketing, Government Affairs, Trade & Distribution, Business Unit Leadership, Finance, Accounting, and Legal. The Senior Manager will work closely with our field-based Market Access team to engage customers and to present contract offerings across the inflammation portfolio to gain coverage that aligns with each brand’s coverage goals.This role will require a strong foundation in the U.S. healthcare market and understanding of specialty pharmacy reimbursement processes. Amgen has strong training, education, and mentoring programs to ensure staff are successful.Develop and take ownership of national and regional coverage strategies for key Inflammation products while balancing coverage and gross-to-net considerationsClosely partner with Market Access, Trade, and Patient Access to align on account level payer and access strategy, negotiations, and access pull-throughConstructively challenge teams by providing disconfirming information and encouraging innovative solutions and problem solvingTrack Market Access payer coverage/POA goals and support dashboard activitiesRoutinely interact with senior leadership and other high-level, committees or teams in responding to coverage and policy issues and requestsBuild and maintain productive relationships with collaborators in GV&A, brand marketing, VA&I, Contract Development, and others; proactively seek buy-in and provide ongoing support to address business needsEnsure alignment in strategy and execution of the plan with cross-functional teams including Brand, Medical, Patient Access, Value Marketing, GHE, Trade, and PolicyLeadership, coaching, and management of direct report(s) to deliver on coverage objectives for supported brandsWhat we expect of youWe are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients. The coverage and pricing professional we seek is a collaborator with these qualifications.Basic Qualifications:Doctorate degree and 2 years in either sales, marketing, contracting and/or pricing, finance, accounting, analytics, healthcare, or sales operationsORMaster’s degree and 4 years in either sales, marketing, contracting and/or pricing, finance, accounting, analytics, healthcare, or sales operationsORBachelor’s degree and 6 years in either sales, marketing, contracting and/or pricing, finance, accounting, analytics, healthcare, or sales operationsORAssociate’s degree and 10 years in either sales, marketing, contracting and/or pricing, finance, accounting, analytics, healthcare, or sales operationsORHigh school diploma / GED and 12 years in either sales, marketing, contracting and/or pricing, finance, accounting, analytics, healthcare, or sales operationsPreferred Qualifications:Prior experience in contracts and pricing, direct payor experience, or value marketing and a good foundational understanding of the US payor environmentExcellent conceptual problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to bring structure to vaguely defined problems, pragmatically scope problem solving approach, and manage
