Job Description
Position OverviewTFG Grant Writing Consultants work remotely and have the flexibility to accept grant project assignments based on their areas of expertise, interest, and availability. Candidates should have significant experience in all phases of the grant development process and strong foundational knowledge of grantmaking entities, especially federal grant programs.ResponsibilitiesGrant Writing Consultants work closely with TFG staff and clients to identify and pursue grant funding opportunities. Responsibilities may include the following:Support all phases of the grant development lifecycleAssist in the development and refinement of project concepts and funding strategiesDevelop a full proposal narrative and other attachmentsGuide budget development, justification, and finalizationDevelop all application materials to ensure alignment with funder requirements and prioritiesCoordinate the finalization of application materials and guide the submission processEnsure compliance with grant guidelines and formatting standards, meeting all requirements leading to a funder review after submissionMaintain clear communication with clients and internal teams throughout the development processQualificationsTFG is specifically looking to work with consultants who have demonstrated experience researching and securing grants in the following areas:Transportation and InfrastructureBroadbandEnergy and PowerWater, Wastewater, and StormwaterCommunity & Economic DevelopmentPublic Health and Social ServicesScience and Technology Innovation (R&D)Hazard Mitigation and Disaster AssistanceJustice and Public SafetyParks and RecreationEducation (K-12 and IHE) and Workforce DevelopmentArts, Culture, and HumanitiesAgriculture and Rural DevelopmentTribal ProgrammingCandidates must meet the following minimum criteria:Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or universityMaster's Degree or higher encouraged4+ years of professional grant writing and research experienceExperience with state and federal grants and working with government agency applicantsExperience with government entity applicantsBenefitsCompetitive hourly rate to commensurate with work experience and qualifications.Ability to choose projects and set your own working hours based on availability and interests Opportunity to work on diverse assignments, gaining experience across sectors, clients, and issue areasHigh-performing consultants often receive repeat contracts or opportunities for long-term workOriginally posted on Himalayas
