Full Time Senior Bookkeeper

**Remote \| WA Resident ONLY \| Grow into 30–40 hours per week** Halsey Resources is an accounting services firm seeking an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join our remote team. We provide outsourced accounting services to a diverse group of businesses. **Please read the requirements carefully before applying. This is not a position in which we can train someone in bookkeeping.** We will provide training on our internal processes, systems, and individual client accounts, but candidates must already have strong bookkeeping and accounting knowledge and be capable of independently managing their assigned accounts once trained. Please do not apply if you do not meet the experience requirements below. Our clients span different industries, systems, histories, and levels of complexity. We need someone who can open an unfamiliar set of books, understand what is happening, recognize what doesn't make sense or what may be missing, and determine what needs to happen next. This is a hands\-on Senior Bookkeeper position, not a management or department\-lead role. **What You'll Do** * Manage full\-cycle bookkeeping for multiple client accounts, including reconciliations, A/P, A/R, payroll\-related entries, loans, fixed assets, accruals, and other balance\-sheet activity. * Review financial statements and balance\-sheet accounts for accuracy, reasonableness, and completeness, including identifying missing or unusual activity. * Investigate discrepancies, clean up historical bookkeeping issues, and determine the cause of problems rather than simply making adjustments to force accounts to reconcile. * Apply sound accounting principles and GAAP standards as applicable. * Communicate directly with clients to obtain information, answer questions, resolve issues, and explain accounting matters clearly. * Review other bookkeeping work when assigned and identify errors or areas requiring correction. * Maintain client records throughout the year so accounts are properly prepared for 1099 reporting. * Document client\-specific procedures and work with CPAs, tax professionals, and other outside professionals as needed. * Independently manage multiple clients, competing priorities, and deadlines. **What We’re Looking For** * Significant hands\-on experience with full\-cycle bookkeeping and a strong understanding of how transactions flow through financial statements. * Very strong QuickBooks Online knowledge, including familiarity with its idiosyncrasies, limitations, and problems that can result from incorrectly handled transactions, integrations, or workflows. * Working familiarity with QuickBooks Desktop. * Strong understanding of GAAP and fundamental accounting principles. * Familiarity with sales tax principles and the ability to recognize activity that may have sales tax implications. Washington State Department of Revenue filing experience is strongly preferred, with additional preference given to candidates familiar with FileLocal reporting. * Familiari
