**Job Overview** We are seeking a dynamic and detail\-oriented Staff Accountant for a contract position to join our financial team. This position is perfect for professionals eager to apply their expertise in corporate, governmental, or non\-profit accounting while gaining valuable experience in a collaborative setting. **Responsibilities** * Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other regulatory standards * Perform detailed account reconciliations including general ledger, bank, and subsidiary ledgers such as Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable * Assist with month\-end and year\-end closing processes, including journal entries and accruals * Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support organizational financial management goals * Reconcile balance sheets, perform cash flow analysis, and prepare regulatory reports as required by governmental or non\-profit entities * Collaborate with auditors during audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations of financial data **Experience** * Proven experience in corporate accounting or public accounting environments with a strong understanding of GAAP and financial concepts * Hands\-on experience with accounting software such as Yardi, QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft or similar platforms * Knowledge of SOX compliance procedures and LIHTC (Low\-Income Housing Tax Credit) regulations is highly desirable * Familiarity with governmental or non\-profit accounting standards and practices * Strong technical skills in journal entries, double\-entry bookkeeping, account reconciliation, and financial report interpretation * Ability to analyze financial data critically while maintaining attention to detail in fast\-paced settings * Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration across teams and mentoring responsibilities Join us in this vital role where your expertise will directly impact our organization’s financial health!
