We’re growing our data practice and are looking for a Data Governance Consultant with strong Microsoft Purview experience to lead the setup and early adoption of a governed data catalog for our customers.This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of business, data, and governance—guiding customers through foundational decisions, translating requirements into action, and helping teams build confidence in how they manage and trust their data.What You’ll DoLead Microsoft Purview Governance EnablementOwn the data governance setup in Microsoft Purview from a business and governance perspectivePartner closely with customers to define governance structures, roles, and processesGuide customers through initial Purview adoption, best practices, and early-stage enablementServe as a trusted advisor, helping customers understand not just how to use Purview—but whyConfigure and Execute the Purview Data MapAssign and manage Purview Data Map roles for project team membersRegister Azure data sources such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, and Azure SQL DatabaseConfigure and run metadata scans to ingest assets into PurviewEnable and validate data lineagePartner with internal infrastructure teams on ADF or Synapse pipeline configuration for lineage tracking, when applicableBuild a Governed, Unified Data CatalogDefine and configure Unified Catalog rolesEstablish a domain hierarchy aligned to the customer’s businessCreate and manage data glossary terms and critical data elementsDefine data products and associated data product policiesAssociate cataloged data assets to data products to improve discoverability and trustSupport Data Health & Quality VisibilityDefine and implement data quality rules (simple to medium complexity)Review and interpret data quality metrics and reportsProvide actionable recommendations to improve data health transparency and governance maturityNote: This role is primarily data governance and business-focused.
