The ideal candidate will help maintain, optimize, and support multiple database systems across the organization, ensuring reliability, performance, compliance, and scalability as the platform continues to expand. As the database operations mature and key improvements are implemented, this role will evolve to include ownership of our observability strategy with a particular focus on monitoring, alerting, and operational visibility.This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys both deep database administration and proactive system monitoring, helping drive reliability across the entire technology platform.What you will doManage and support multiple database platforms, including SQL Server, PostgreSQL and MongoDBEnsure database performance, availability, and reliability across environmentsMonitor, troubleshoot, and resolve database issues in production systemsImplement best practices for database maintenance, backups, and recoveryCollaborate with engineering teams to support application development and data needsOptimize queries and database structures for performance and scalabilitySupport ongoing growth of data infrastructure as new data sources are introducedDesign, implement, and maintain monitoring dashboards in Datadog.Create meaningful alerts that reduce noise and improve operational awareness.Define service-level indicators (SLIs), service-level objectives (SLOs), and alert thresholds.Develop monitoring strategies for databases, applications, infrastructure, and cloud servicesBuild executive, operational, and engineering dashboards.Required skills, abilities, and educationStrong experience as a Database Administrator (DBA), ideally in a senior-level roleHands-on experience with SQL Server, PostgreSQL and MongoDB databasesExperience working with diverse data sources and environmentsSolid understanding of database performance tuning and optimizationExperience with backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planningStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsAbility to work effectively in a growing, fast-paced team environmentExcellent communication and collaboration skillsExperience with Datadog monitoring and alerting.Experience designing operational dashboards and observability strategies.Knowledge of SRE principles and reliability engineering practices.What we have to offerThe opportunity to grow alongside an early-stage company shaking up a big, old-fashioned industryFlexible time off, including 12 paid holidays401k match plus 100% employer paid medical, dental, and vision premiumsCompany contribution to Health Savings AccountStock optionsPrescryptive is committed to fair pay practices. The projected annual salary for this position is $155,000 to $190,000.
