Part-Time Bookkeeper (1099 Contractor - Remote)

Job Description: We are seeking a highly organized and detail\-oriented Part\-Time Bookkeeper to join our team as a 1099 Contractor. This remote position offers the flexibility to work from the comfort of your own home while contributing to a dynamic and growing organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting skills and experience in managing financial records accurately and efficiently. Key Responsibilities: * Run payroll and record payroll activity * Handle Accounts Payable (vendor management, bill entry, reimbursements, payment processing) * Handle Accounts Receivable (invoicing, collections, payment tracking) * Record financial transactions and maintain accurate records * Reconcile bank and credit card accounts * Prepare financial statements and reports * Monitor cash balances and flag variances * Track and allocate expenses across multiple grants and cost centers * Support grant reporting and reimbursement processes * Assist with audit and tax preparation * Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies Qualifications: * Proficiency in QuickBooks and Bill.com * Strong Excel and financial reporting skills * Experience with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, payroll, and reconciliations * Experience managing multiple funding streams (government and private grants) * Experience with non\-profit GAAP, fund/grant accounting and form 990 preparation support * Understanding of internal financial controls and authorization procedures * Understanding of restricted vs. unrestricted funding * Familiarity with grant compliance and audit requirements * Strong attention to detail and organizational skills * Ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines * Strong communication and problem\-solving skills * Comfort with AI tools and financial automation software; proactively identifies opportunities to streamline processes through technology.
