Job Description

Our Professional Liability Claims team is looking for a new Claims Assistant who has experience in providing administrative support, alongside our Liability Claims Representatives, in support of our members. If you have experience with liability claims, preferably in the healthcare industry, we are looking for you. The position is hybrid position, allowing up to 2 days to work from home a week, and requires a commutable distance to one of our offices in Alamo, Glendale, Granite Bay or San Diego. **ABOUT BETA HEALTHCARE GROUP:** BETA Healthcare Group (BETA) is the largest professional liability insurer of hospitals on the west coast, providing coverage to more than 600 hospitals and healthcare facilities and provides workers' compensation coverage for over 90,000 healthcare workers in California. Whether with hospitals, medical groups, clinics or hospices, BETA has earned a reputation for financial strength, rate stability, quality service and breadth of coverage that is unparalleled in the industry. **ABOUT THE ROLE:** This is an hourly non\-exempt and entry\-level position in our Liability Claims Department and allows for telecommuting up to two days a week from home but must be a commutable distance near any of our offices: Alamo, Glendale, Granite Bay or San Diego. You will work closely in a team environment and report to the Claims Operations Supervisor, Professional Liability. **IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:** * Primarily performs data entry, which may include closing electronic files and entering financial transactions such as invoices, check requests and payment information * Process paper and electronic invoices for payment * Print and review regular reports regarding invoices and payments * Coordinate the generation of payments with the Finance Department * Prepare and process monthly deductible invoices * Reconcile bills and payments for closed files * Work directly with the Finance Department to resolve discrepancies in claims expenses, outstanding items and deposits * Work directly with vendor representatives regarding past due and incorrect bills * Process, scan, and import incoming paper and electronic mail on a regular rotation * May process incoming deliveries and prepare outgoing mail and shipments, including overnight packages * May prepare correspondence and copies of documents or other items, as needed * May run office errands, as needed * May coordinate/facilitate office lunches/meetings,
