DescriptionBright Insights is the AI-powered e-commerce and retail intelligence division of Bright Data. Launched in September 2022, it bridges the gap between raw web scraping and strategic decision-making by turning public web data into actionable, real-time business intelligence.We are looking for a Business Analyst to sit at the intersection of pre-sales, solution design, and post-sales delivery planning. This is a highly cross-functional, customer-facing role. You will work directly with prospects and clients to deeply understand their data needs, translate those needs into technically sound and commercially viable solutions, and produce the detailed SOWs, scoping documents, and cost models that make complex Managed Services projects possible. You will collaborate daily across Sales, Solution Engineering, R&D, Product, and Delivery, acting as the connective tissue between what a customer needs and what Bright Data can build and price accurately.ResponsibilitiesPre-Sales & Solution Scoping (~40%)Engage directly with prospects and customers during pre-sales to understand their data collection, enrichment, and insights requirements in depthLead or support discovery sessions — asking the right questions to uncover technical constraints, data freshness needs, volume expectations, output formats, and downstream use casesTranslate customer requirements into well-architected solution designs that leverage Bright Data's full stack: Scraper Studio, proxies, Web Unlocker, Scraping Browser, AI pipelines, and data delivery optionsWork alongside Sales AEs and Solution Engineers to craft winning proposals — ensuring the technical and commercial narrative is coherent and credibleIdentify ambiguities and risks in customer requirements early, and drive alignment before contracts are signed SOW & Pricing (~30%)Author detailed, precise Statements of Work (SOWs) for complex Managed Services & Insights engagements — covering scope, deliverables, timelines, assumptions, exclusions, and acceptance criteriaBuild cost models and pricing estimates for projects involving data collection at scale, custom scraper development, AI/BI deliverables, and ongoing maintenanceDevelop and refine internal costing frameworks to improve speed and consistency of pricing across the teamCollaborate with R&D leads and Delivery/Project Managers to validate technical feasibility and effort estimates before committing to customersManage scope change requests and support contract amendments as projects evolve Business Research & Post-Sales Analysis (~30%)Conduct deep business and technical research on customer industries, data sources, and use cases to inform solution design and delivery planningProduce structured write-ups, briefing documents, and solution specs for internal teams picking up delivery post-contractSupport delivery teams during project kickoff to ensure the SOW is fully understood and the solution is set up for successTrack and analyze project performance data — helping identify where scoping assumptions held up and where they didn't, to improve future estimatesStay current on web data, AI/ML, and BI trends to bring informed perspective to both client conversations and internal solution developmentRequirements6+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Solutions Consultant, or similar role in a technology services, data, or SaaS environmentProven track record writing complex SOWs and service contracts for technical projects — you know what good scope definition looks like and why it mattersStrong understanding of web data collection and web scraping — you don't need to write scrapers, but you must be able to speak credibly about how data is collected, what affects cost and complexity, and what can go wrongSolid grasp of data analysis, BI, and AI/ML solutions — enough to scope deliverables, ask the right questions, and assess feasibilityExperience estimating IT project costs — infrastructure, development effort, ongoing maintenance, and third-party toolingExcellent customer-facing communication skills — comfortable leading discovery calls, asking probing questions, and presenting solutions to technical and business stakeholders alikeOutstanding written English — your SOWs, proposals, and research write-ups must be clear, precise, and professionalHighly organized and self-directed in a fully remote environment.
