And much more floor space.AutoStore – moving things forward.The Role:This opportunity has arisen due to the expansion of our US business and formation of a US distribution company that will import and sell our product in the US.The Senior Tax Manager – US will play a critical role in supporting AutoStore's continued growth in the United States. The role combines tax advisory, tax governance, and oversight of outsourced compliance across indirect tax, corporate income tax, customs, and transfer pricing. This position offers an opportunity to build scalable tax processes and controls within a fast-growing international technology company.The role will coordinate and review the work of external advisers rather than prepare tax returns directly.This role reports to the SVP of Tax & Treasury but is expected to be autonomous on a day to day basis, presenting a unique opportunity to set up US tax processes from scratch. Key responsibilities:Act as a first point of contact for the sales team, logistics team, US finance team, US HR, and auditors (Deloitte) for any US tax related queriesAgree sales tax determinations and collect sales tax exemption certificates where applicableRegister the company in any new states for sales and local taxes (indirect and direct)Manage outsourced sales tax compliance provider (VATIT, ensuring timely and accurate provision of required dataManage outsourced corporate income tax compliance provider (CBIZ) and ensuring that they have the required data on a timely basisDeal with tax notices and extension applicationsMonitor tax liabilities and ensure timely paymentsIdentifying any withholding tax requirements and managing the payment or recovery of withholding taxSupport transfer pricing compliance and intercompany transactions relating to US distribution activities.Coordinate annual transfer pricing documentation with external advisers.Review intercompany agreements and support implementation of transfer pricing policies.Respond to ad-hoc tax advisory requestsAnswer ad-hoc request for advice, involving advisers where necessaryIdentifying and reporting tax risk to the SVP Tax & TreasuryMaintaining a tax risk register for the USSupport quarterly and annual tax reporting under IFRSPrepare and review current and deferred tax calculations and supporting schedules for US entitiesReconcile tax-related balance sheet accounts and monitor uncertain tax positionsSupport ERP implementation (SAP) where requiredDrive automation initiatives and leverage AI-enabled solutions to improve tax compliance, reporting and risk managementKey Qualifications:5-8+ years of relevant US tax experienceStrong knowledge of either US indirect tax or corporate income tax, with willingness to develop across broader tax areasExperience managing external advisers and service providersPreferred Qualifications: CPA, MST or equivalent qualificationExperience within a multinational or publicly listed companyExperience with SAP, Oracle or similar ERP systemsExposure to transfer pricing, customs duty and cross-border transactionsCompetenciesGood analytical and numerical skillsAttention to detailGood communication skillsUnderstanding of tax risks and importance of accuracy and timelinessAbility to present information clearlySelf-motivatedLocation – US Remote (East Coast) with occasional travel We Offer: AutoStore believes in taking care of employees and is dedicated to providing a supportive and rewarding work environment.
