Contract Technical Writer – Digital Learning & Product DocumentationLocation: Remote (India)
Duration: Long-term contract (approx. 12 months)About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Technical Writer to support the creation of in-platform learning materials and product documentation for a global software environment.In this role, you will translate product demos, recordings, and SME inputs into clear, user-friendly guides and video scripts. You’ll work across the full content lifecycle, from initial draft through review and final publishing, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and usability.This is a hands-on role suited for someone who is comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, release-driven environment.What You’ll DoContent DevelopmentCreate and update user guides with step-by-step instructions, screenshots, and troubleshooting notesDevelop video scripts aligned to screen recordings, including narration, on-screen actions, and timing cuesCapture and annotate screen recordings to support documentation and video developmentInformation GatheringGather inputs from demos, recordings, SMEs, and product updatesConvert raw inputs into structured, task-based documentationValidate content for accuracy and alignment with product functionalityReview & Publishing WorkflowManage content through defined review stages, incorporating feedback from multiple stakeholdersTrack approvals, revisions, and final sign-offPrepare and package content for publishing within internal platforms or knowledge basesOperational ManagementTrack progress, updates, risks, and dependencies using project management toolsMaintain consistency in terminology, formatting, and documentation standardsIdentify and document product issues or gaps with clear reproduction stepsRequirementsWhat We’re Looking For3+ years of technical writing experience, ideally supporting software or digital platformsStrong ability to translate demos and recordings into clear, task-based documentationAdvanced Microsoft Word skills (structured formatting, styles, tables, visuals)Experience capturing and annotating screens (e.g., SnagIt or similar tools)Experience writing scripts for instructional or product videosProven ability to manage review cycles and incorporate stakeholder feedbackStrong attention to detail and ability to identify inconsistencies or defectsClear, concise writing style with strong organizational skillsNice to HaveExperience with knowledge base or help center publishing workflowsFamiliarity with agile environments and working with product teamsBasic image editing and content QA experienceExposure to AI tools to support writing or workflow efficiencyWhy This Role
