With $1B+ in annual sales and 10,000+ commissioned projects across technology, data centers, commercial, energy, utilities, healthcare, industrial, and infrastructure markets, IEM continues to deliver exceptional product quality, dependable service, and the flexibility to meet complex technical requirements at scale.Position SummaryWe are seeking a Senior Enterprise Architect who will be the "technical north star" for our organization. This role has a dual focus:Systems Integration: You will own the entire enterprise integration strategy, defining how our dozens of applications (from legacy mainframes to modern SaaS) communicate, share data, and interoperate seamlessly.Large Project Implementation: You will serve as the principal architect and technical governor for our most complex, high-impact, and cross-functional technology initiatives (such as ERP replacements, cloud migrations, or new digital product launches).Key ResponsibilitiesIntegration Strategy & ArchitectureDevelop the Blueprint: Design, develop, and maintain the enterprise integration architecture (EIA) strategy, roadmap, and standards.Define Patterns: Establish and govern all integration patterns (e.g., API-led, event-driven, pub/sub, microservices, ETL) to be used across the organization.Platform: Help with the selection, implementation, and governance of our integration technology stack (e.g., iPaaS, API gateways, message brokers).Data Flow: Map and architect the flow of all critical business data (e.g., Customer, Product, Order) across systems to ensure a "single source of truth."Large Project Governance & OversightTechnical Vision: Serve as the lead architect for our largest strategic projects, translating business goals into a high-level technical vision and solution architecture.Design Authority: Review and approve high-level solution designs from project-level solution architects, ensuring they align with enterprise standards, security policies, and the long-term roadmap.Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify and resolve major architectural risks, conflicts, and dependencies between large projects.Future-Proofing: Ensure new implementations are not just short-term fixes but are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with the future-state architecture.CollaborationStakeholder Alignment: Communicate and present complex technical strategies to Director and above non-technical audiences.Mentorship: Provide leadership and mentorship to solution architects, data architects, and senior engineers.Innovation: Continuously research and evaluate emerging technologies and integration trends to keep our architecture modern and effective.Supervision of PersonnelNo expected direct reports for this role, but will lead cross-functionally through influence.QualificationsRequiredExperience: 10+ years in technology with at least 5+ years in a senior or solution architecture role.Integration Expertise: Demonstrable, deep experience designing and implementing complex, enterprise-wide integration strategies (API-led, SOA, event-driven, etc.).Large Project Track Record: Proven experience providing architectural leadership for multiple, concurrent large-scale transformation projects (e.g., digital transformations, major platform/ERP implementations, large-scale cloud migrations).Technical Breadth: Broad knowledge spanning applications, data, infrastructure, and security. Must be an expert in how they all connect.Integration Technology: Hands-on experience with integration platforms (e.g., MuleSoft, Boomi, TIBCO) and/or cloud-native services (e.g., Azure App services, AWS EventBridge, GCP Pub/Sub, Azure Logic Apps, Apigee).Communication: Exceptional communication, presentation, and influencing skills. Must be able to "sell" an architectural vision and build consensus.Preferred Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or a related field.Experience with EA frameworks like TOGAF or ArchiMate.Cloud certification (AWS, Azure, or GCP).Experience in the manufacturing sector.Experience architecting for both on-premise and cloud/hybrid environments.Job Location The position is fully remote, but up to 10% travel required to IEM facilities, training or conferences.Why Join IEMAt IEM, you’ll join a team that powers some of the world’s most ambitious projects.
