Job Description

SUMMARYEnsures coordination and support of leave of absence cases with an eye toward service, accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Works directly with employees, managers, Human Resources and disability and leave administrator on any leave issues.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function listed below.Acts as the internal resource for the employee, manager, Human Resources, Legal, Benefits, third party administrators and other stakeholders for leave issues or escalations.Provides guidance and support for complex cases and issues such as workers’ compensation with FMLA, return to work/fitness for duty, leave/disability denials and appeals, and more.Audits status changes, and addresses errors and integration kickouts.Audits advice to pay activity and ensures appropriate adjustment of timecards. Enters time off in coordination with disability benefits.Monitors leave of absence activity and addresses identified issues or trends.Responds to inquiries including leave-related Tier 2 tickets.Ensures employee status changes are made accurately and timely in Dayforce, auditing and correcting as appropriate.Audits workers compensation claims to ensure that those qualified for FMLA or other leaves are managed and tracked appropriately.Manages a caseload as assigned.Recommends and supports policy and procedure changes and development, with an eye toward compliance, efficiency and service.Develops or supports development of leave guides, procedures, workflows and other materials for employees and managers. Supports leave training needs.Provides reports or self-service reporting guidance.Performs other related duties and activities as required.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESNone.Minimum Knowledge and Skills required for the Job The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities required to perform the job.Education and Experience:Associate's degree in human resources, psychology, social services, or other relevant field; Bachelor’s degree preferredMinimum of two years’ experience in human resources, leave of absence and/or workers compensationPrior experience with and knowledge of leave of absence concepts, FMLA, state leave and disability laws, and workers compensation preferredCertificates, Licenses, and Registrations:None required. PHR, SPHR, CLMS or other relevant certification preferred.Other Skills and Abilities:Ability to effectively communicate with a range of stakeholders, externally and within the organizationAbility and willingness to multi-task and manage multiple priorities and stakeholders; demonstrated ability to be detail-oriented while also focusing on the big pictureStrong identification with the Company’s mission and our commitment to the people we serve and the services we provideExceptional work ethicExperience with Dayforce or similar payroll systemsExperience with leave of absence and/or workers compensation third party administration portals/systemsMicrosoft Office skills, including Word and ExcelOther Requirements:Travel as neededPhysical Requirements:Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
