You will reverse engineer complex software, discover vulnerabilities, and develop original research. Researchers are encouraged to explore new ideas and transform promising findings into published research shared with the global security community.In this role you will be:Leading end-to-end research projects - from idea generation, through discovery and exploitation, to publicationConducting deep security research across operating systems, cloud environments, enterprise software, and emerging technologiesDeveloping proof-of-concepts and research toolsLeveraging AI to scale research workflowPublishing research via technical blogs, whitepapers, and top-tier conferencesCollaborating with detection and product teams to translate research into security capabilitiesDo what you loveTo be successful in this role you will:Have 5+ years of experience in security research, vulnerability discovery, exploitation, or reverse engineeringDemonstrate a deep understanding of OS internalsHave hands-on experience with reverse engineering and debugging tools (e.g., IDA, Ghidra, WinDbg) and AI-assisted research toolsBe capable of independently leading complex research projects from concept to publicationDemonstrate exceptional analytical abilities and advanced problem-solving expertise.Be able to communicate complex technical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiencesHave a track record of published research (e.g., blogs, CVEs, conference talks)Work in a way that works for youFlexBase, Akamai's Global Flexible Working Program, is based on the principles that are helping us create the best workplace in the world.
