We are not currently accepting candidates from the United States. The Staff Accountant supports accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting for the organization. This role owns assigned general ledger accounts from transaction processing through reconciliation and analysis, supports monthly close activities, and partners with internal teams to ensure proper accounting treatment in a fast-paced advertising agency environment.The Staff Accountant serves as the primary accounting resource for payroll-related transactions, incentive compensation accounting, treasury activities, and selected compliance functions. This role will lead the implementation of a scalable commission and incentive management solution and support ongoing process improvements that increase automation, accuracy, and efficiency across Finance.What You Will DoMonth-End Close SupportThe Staff Accountant would own or support recurring close activities, including:Preparing routine journal entriesSupporting accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, and expense allocationsReconciling balance sheet accountsInvestigating and resolving reconciling itemsMaintaining close checklists and supporting documentationEnsuring tasks are completed accurately and on scheduleAccount ReconciliationsCash and bank accountsPrepaidsAccrued expensesFixed assetsCorporate credit cardsIntercompany accounts, if applicableOther assigned balance sheet accountsAccounts Payable / Expense SupportReviewing coding accuracySupporting vendor payment workflowsReconciling AP-related accountsReviewing employee expense submissions for policy complianceHelping resolve vendor or internal questionsFinancial Reporting SupportPreparing schedules for monthly financial statementsProviding variance explanations for assigned accountsSupporting audit requestsMaintaining supporting documentationHelping ensure reporting packages are complete and accurateProcess and DocumentationMaintaining SOPs and process documentationIdentifying process gaps or inconsistenciesSupporting system clean-up and data validationCreating repeatable workflows for recurring accounting tasksPayroll ResponsibilitiesBackup for processing semi-monthly payrollManaging monthly accruals related to payrollEntering specific journal entriesRegistering new employee locations with the local, state, and federal entitiesManaging 401k plan supportWho You AreYou have a minimum of two years of accounting experience.Must possess “when no one’s looking” integrity and be an individual with a high level of ethics and characterSelf starterMust be extremely detail-oriented and able to multitask to meet deadlinesStrong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills requiredMust possess the aptitude and flexibility to understand the informational requirements of the business as it changesExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsProficiency with MS Office suite, especially Excel (more specifically pivot tables and vlookups) and PowerPointExperience with NetSuite and Concur preferredMust have willingness to learn in order to grow with organizationMust be a team playerCheck us out at www.goodwaygroup.com to learn more!If you identify as a female candidate, and feel you can do this role even if there are a few things perhaps you've not done, please apply anyway!
