As one of the 5 largest insurance brokerage firms in the U.S., Alliant provides property and casualty, workers' compensation, employee benefits, surety, and financial products and services to clients nationwide.More information is available at www.alliant.com.SUMMARYResponsible for marketing trends and conditions in order to produce accurate and viable employee benefit solutions for clients and prospects.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESCreates and sends requests for proposals (RFPs) to carriers, including follow-up as necessary;Solicits bids for clients from carriers and vendors;Monitors receipt of bids to ensure that the quotes are timely and are to specification;Communicates negotiated rate and plan design alternatives to the respective client service team member;Creates accurate and consistently formatted proposals;Reviews peer proposals for accuracy;Develops and maintains carrier relationships;Keeps abreast of legislative, market and product changes;Attends and actively participates in marketing meetings;Flexibility to work long hours during busy season, if needed;Complies with agency management system data standards and data integrity (enters and maintains complete and accurate information);Other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATION / EXPERIENCEBachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experienceOne (1) or more years experience working for a group insurance carrier or benefits brokerage firmSKILLSExcellent verbal and written communication skillsGood problem solving, planning, organizational and prioritization skillsStrong quantitative and analytical skillsStrong multi-tasking skills with high level attention to detailAbility to interface with executives – internal and externalProficient in Microsoft Office productsWe are proud to provide comprehensive, high quality employee programs to meet employees' needs now and in the future, including a very competitive financial package.
