Staff Accountant

*Do you love nonprofits and the work they do?* *Do you have multi\-client accounting experience?* If so, read on... **Foundation Group Accounting Services** is comprised of virtual accountants and bookkeepers that support nonprofit, tax exempt, organizations and maintain their financial books and records. The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following qualities: * Accounting experience * Multi\-client experience * Experience with QuickBooks and/or QuickBooks Online * Thorough understanding of standard financial statements * Strong interest in nonprofits * Excellent analytical skills * Strong time management ability * Keen attention to detail * Ability to work independently, while comfortable asking for further direction or assistance * Ability to comfortably communicate directly with clients **Responsibilities:** * Transaction entry into QuickBooks Online * Journal and data entry (coding and classing) * Monthly bank reconciliations * Manage and maintain chart of accounts * Credit card reconciliations * Prepare and maintain work papers/schedules (i.e. Depreciation, prepaid, etc.) * Preparation of monthly financial statements, including Profit/Loss (Statement of Activities) and Balance Sheet (Statement of Financial Position) * 1099\-NEC and/or MISC preparation * Working collaboratively with other departments, as needed **Minimum Qualifications:** * 2 years of direct accounting responsibilities, preferably working with external clients. Internal accounting/bookkeeping experience will be considered. * Working knowledge of double\-entry accounting and financial statements (Balance Sheet and Profit \& Loss). * Experience working with nonprofit organizations is a plus but not required. * Must be comfortable working with a remote client base (national clientele). **Minimum Education:** * 4 years of post\-secondary education in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field; Bachelor's degree preferred. While we strive to allow flexibility in work hours, we do require your 8\-hour workday to be Monday \- Friday between the hours of 8:30 am Eastern to 5:00 pm Pacific.
