Java Developer - Part-Time

OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Part-Time Java Developer with a minimum of five (5) years of experience to support ongoing project needs. This role requires a strong technical foundation in enterprise and legacy Java technologies, along with flexibility to contribute across multiple workstreams as project demands evolve.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, maintain, and enhance Java-based enterprise applicationsUtilize Apache Struts framework and EclipseLink (JPA) for application developmentSupport and maintain applications deployed on Oracle WebLogic ServerPerform and remediate Fortify static code scans, ensuring adherence to security standardsTroubleshoot and resolve application issues across development and production environmentsCollaborate with stakeholders, developers, and project teams to deliver effective solutionsAdapt to changing priorities and contribute to a variety of project-related tasks as neededAssist with documentation, testing, and deployment activitiesSupport tasks outside of core development responsibilities to ensure overall project successQualificationsBachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, information science, or software engineeringMinimum 5 years of professional software development experienceStrong proficiency in Java (J2EE/Java EE)Hands-on experience with Apache Struts, EclipseLink (JPA), Oracle WebLogic Server, Fortify (static code analysis and remediation)Experience working within enterprise or legacy system environments Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently in a remote, part-time capacity Must be a U.S. citizen and undergo a background check for Public TrustStrong verbal and written communication skills Pay Transparency StatementAMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners.
