Job Description

**Job title:** Fractional CFO (Part\-Time, Remote) **Company:** Empowher Pickleball **Location:** Remote — United States **Employment type:** Part\-time / contract (fractional) **Engagement:** \~10 hours per month **Compensation:** $2,500–$4,000/month retainer (commensurate with experience) About Empowher Pickleball Empowher Pickleball is a fast\-growing women's pickleball company — and a movement. We run elite women\-only retreats at world\-class resorts, camps across the country, and events that turn strangers into a community. We're not selling lessons; we're selling transformation, on and off the court. Founded in 2023, we've grown to a team of \~14 and a community of tens of thousands of women. We're profitable, growing fast, and ready for a sharper financial brain in the room. The role We're hiring a **Fractional CFO** to be the financial leader behind the business. This is a senior, strategic seat — you'll own the numbers, the cash, and the financial story, working directly with our CEO. It's a light\-footprint engagement (about 10 hours a month) for an experienced finance pro who can deliver CFO\-level insight without a full\-time price tag. Our model has real financial texture: retreat deposits collected months ahead (hello, deferred revenue), seven\-figure resort commitments, multi\-state camps, and seasonal cash swings. We need someone who can keep us disciplined, liquid, and making decisions from clean numbers — not vibes. This seat replaces our outgoing CFO, so you'll step into an established finance function with a bookkeeper and tooling already in place. What you'll own * **Cash flow forecasting \& management** — keep a rolling cash forecast current, protect liquidity through seasonal swings, and make sure deposits are reserved against future trip costs, not spent early. * **Monthly close oversight** — review the close prepared by our bookkeeper, ensure accuracy, and turn it into a clean, decision\-ready P\&L, balance sheet, and cash position. * **Deferred revenue \& deposit discipline** — own revenue recognition for retreat/camp deposits and final payments, and maintain a sound deposit\-reserve policy. * **Margin \& unit economics** — report profitability by retreat and camp so we know which trips and markets actually make money. * **Financial reporting \& KPIs** — deliver a tight monthly dashboard to the CEO: cash, margin, forecast vs. actuals, and the few metrics that matter. * **Budgeting \& planning** — build the annual budget and margin targets, and pressure\-test big commitments (new venues, new hires, new markets) before we sign. * **Compliance coordination** — keep us aligned with our CPA on taxes, our payroll provider, and entity/multi\-state obligations. * **Strategic advisory** — be a thought partner to the CEO on pricing, growth investments, and the financial side of scaling. What we're looking for * Proven CFO, fractional CFO, or senior finance leadership experience — ideally with small or growing businesse
