We are currently seeking an analytical, problem\-solving CPA to join our team in a financial statement preparation role. While we have a strong preference for candidates in the Vancouver, Washington area to bolster our local presence, we support a remote environment allowing candidates to apply from across the US. If you are a self\-starter who thrives on precision and professional autonomy, we invite you to help us maintain our reputation as the premier firm in the region. **Position Overview** The Sr. Accountant provides hands\-on accounting, advisory, and controller\-level support to local government clients, including cities, counties, special districts, and housing authorities and non\-profits closely aligned with governments. Serving as a trusted partner, the Sr. Accountant acts with integrity in every client interaction, delivering honest, transparent guidance that public\-sector organizations can rely on. This role requires strong technical governmental accounting knowledge and the ability to work efficiently and independently with client accounting teams — helping them accomplish more with the resources they have. They supervise and review work performed by client staff and firm team members, fostering a culture of collaboration that strengthens the team. Sr. Accountant team members serve as key client contacts, resolving moderately complex accounting issues with an unwavering commitment to quality that meets the highest standards of financial and operational excellence. All work is performed in accordance with applicable GASB standards and state requirements — because doing things right is not negotiable in the communities this firm serves. **Primary Responsibilities** **Client Accounting \& Controller Services** * Serve as acting controller for assigned clients, responding to accounting questions and directing client accounting staff. * Prepare and/or review: * Monthly or Quarterly financial statements * Journal entries * Bank and balance sheet reconciliations * Budgets * Cost Allocations * Supervise and review: * Accounts payable processing * Payroll processing * Monthly grant billing preparations * Assist clients with catching up basic accounting functions following staff turnover or vacancies.
